IT WAS AWESOME
Before I make this big ass post:
1- Yes, I have pictures. 90% of them are on another camera, but I did get my outfit on my PS3 eye. Hell, I even got video being sent to me over E-mail.
2- I was not selling programs. I was actually part of the show. As soon as I got there on my first day. Every shriner got around me and shook my hand. Asked me how things were going, and just overall were some very, VERY, nice people. So they told me I was not going to be selling programs. Instead, they wanted me to be the highlight of every skit they did during the Circus.
3- Words failed me. I was touched on the amount of smiles I put on kids who were crippled, had cancer, and more. I honestly can not wait until I sign my petition, and become a shriner. I have set my goals. I want. To. Be. A. Shriner.
So where do I begin?
I got there on my first day. My uncle, was putting makeup on with a big smile on his face the entire time. "Son, you have no idea what you are gonna be seeing today, but you will love it".
Now granted I was very nervous about the whole thing. I was afraid I was gonna screw up and no one was gonna like me. Hell, Shriners are basically old people, but my Uncle also told me: "When you became a Mason, you are Gold to us, wait until you meet the Shriners. They want your ass in there".
And then I was at the Civic Center in Columbus GA. 8 AM, and just two hours before the first show. I saw some fellow shriners walk up to me with their jaw dropped. They looked at me. Then, they hugged me while crying. Saying how much it ment to them having a young person such as myself doing this for kids they try to help every day. I could have went to a bar, hung out with friends, but instead I wanted to dress up as a clown and put a smile on children's faces.
So then I was put into a room. And I am not allowed to share what I saw, but I can say that there were even more shriners wearing the fez on their head looking at me.
Then the President walked up to me.
At this moment I was very nervous. But I did not show it. He gave me a hug and said "Son, you are going to represent us old fuckers in this room, and on this day. You are a shriner clown. You won't be doing what we told you to. Instead, you are going to be the highlight of the show, sign autographs, play with the kids, and make us all proud".
I was flabbergasted, I could not believe I was going to be on stage in front of six thousand people just being a clown.
Well, I was. And then the show started.
The Shrine Circus always opens up with clowns following head honchos of the Shriners. Us clowns are behind the Fez, crippled children, and etc. The Shriners always open up with Prayer, the National Anthem, and introducing all of the sponsers, Celeberties (Radio celeberties, Music Celeberties (Shine Down, and a bunch of Country people), and head honchos of the Shriners.
Then after that. The show started. But I am gonna tell you our skits of the clown show.
Later. Right now I just wanted to make this post to share with everyone that I had a wonderful time the past two days. And that it was a real eye opener seeing all of these kids at the Shrine Circus. And It was really touching to see Shriners bring crippled children to see the show for free. And that I was that one Clown that made them laugh and get front row seats.
I cried guys. I am not ashamed to say I honestly cried. I will cherish this moment for the rest of my life.
