IT WAS AWESOME

Before I make this big ass post:

1- Yes, I have pictures. 90% of them are on another camera, but I did get my outfit on my PS3 eye. Hell, I even got video being sent to me over E-mail.

2- I was not selling programs. I was actually part of the show. As soon as I got there on my first day. Every shriner got around me and shook my hand. Asked me how things were going, and just overall were some very, VERY, nice people. So they told me I was not going to be selling programs. Instead, they wanted me to be the highlight of every skit they did during the Circus.

3- Words failed me. I was touched on the amount of smiles I put on kids who were crippled, had cancer, and more. I honestly can not wait until I sign my petition, and become a shriner. I have set my goals. I want. To. Be. A. Shriner.

So where do I begin?

I got there on my first day. My uncle, was putting makeup on with a big smile on his face the entire time. "Son, you have no idea what you are gonna be seeing today, but you will love it".

Now granted I was very nervous about the whole thing. I was afraid I was gonna screw up and no one was gonna like me. Hell, Shriners are basically old people, but my Uncle also told me: "When you became a Mason, you are Gold to us, wait until you meet the Shriners. They want your ass in there".

And then I was at the Civic Center in Columbus GA. 8 AM, and just two hours before the first show. I saw some fellow shriners walk up to me with their jaw dropped. They looked at me. Then, they hugged me while crying. Saying how much it ment to them having a young person such as myself doing this for kids they try to help every day. I could have went to a bar, hung out with friends, but instead I wanted to dress up as a clown and put a smile on children's faces.

So then I was put into a room. And I am not allowed to share what I saw, but I can say that there were even more shriners wearing the fez on their head looking at me.

Then the President walked up to me.

At this moment I was very nervous. But I did not show it. He gave me a hug and said "Son, you are going to represent us old fuckers in this room, and on this day. You are a shriner clown. You won't be doing what we told you to. Instead, you are going to be the highlight of the show, sign autographs, play with the kids, and make us all proud".

I was flabbergasted, I could not believe I was going to be on stage in front of six thousand people just being a clown.

Well, I was. And then the show started.

The Shrine Circus always opens up with clowns following head honchos of the Shriners. Us clowns are behind the Fez, crippled children, and etc. The Shriners always open up with Prayer, the National Anthem, and introducing all of the sponsers, Celeberties (Radio celeberties, Music Celeberties (Shine Down, and a bunch of Country people), and head honchos of the Shriners.

Then after that. The show started. But I am gonna tell you our skits of the clown show.

Later. Right now I just wanted to make this post to share with everyone that I had a wonderful time the past two days. And that it was a real eye opener seeing all of these kids at the Shrine Circus. And It was really touching to see Shriners bring crippled children to see the show for free. And that I was that one Clown that made them laugh and get front row seats.

I cried guys. I am not ashamed to say I honestly cried. I will cherish this moment for the rest of my life.

So do you guys want to meet...Slinky the clown?

I only got two pictures on my PS3 eye. But I got in touch with WTVM (News broadcast in my area) to send me every bit of footage on that show. It has me doing the skits, me talking to the kids, me talking in front of cameras. Everything Jul. But for now. I only got the pics I have on my PS3. And mind you, this was at 6 in the damn morning, and I could not sleep a wink at all that night (Too excited, as well as being a little nervous)

So for the time being: Ladies and Gentlemen. Boys and girls. It's time to introduce...SLINKY THE CLOOOWWWWNNNN!!!

Now these pictures were from day 1. Unfortunately, I do not have day 2 on me. But the face paint was a whole lot better than day one. That and I did not have to wear that fucking wig. It smeared purple paint on my face, and kept getting in the way. But there you go. It's all I have. (Would have gotten video. But my Uncle did not want to be in it. But you'll see his pics soon enough!)

(Day 2 facepaint was a shitload better. I will upload them once I get everything from the Shriners)

It was stretchy. Meaning while I was talking to the kids, I would pull on it to humor them. And technically, it can spin if I wind it back enough. But it only looked sloppy.

You don't have to lie. That get-up looked terrible. Now the 2nd day however looked like a real clown.

E- I was being sarcastic. Wait until you see the full body pics.

Well, I guess Anya was guessing what you looked like on the second day.

I didn't like clowns when I was younger, but I wasn't scared of them or anything like that. I just thought the concept was silly and perplexing.

Now the thing about being a Shrine clown. If a child is afraid of being around clowns: Then I am afraid of them to make them feel a little bit better.

If a parent tries to force a scared child into taking a picture. That is when the clown has to talk like an adult to the parent and let them know what's up. I had this happen a couple of times, and I always let the parents know "I can't let a scared child get his picture taken with me. It's not right at all, and you should take him home".

It's just that simple. Some children are just afraid of clowns. But I always played the "I am scared of children" gimmick if I ever see a child not wanting to look at me. 80% of the time, they felt better and actually laughed. Then wanted me to come sign my autograph on their book.

But that makes sense. If the kid's scared of you, use reverse psychology and roll the dice. If he runs away, you run away.

(Course, the kid might wonder why you ran from HIM when there's a bunch of other kids around...)

Just got in contact with WTVM

Should be able to have some video and some pictures of the circus here soon. They gave me an estimated time of one week. But the videos might be here in under that. So keep an eye out in this thread.

The clown skits

Clowns has to do skits to give time for other performers to get ready for the next show on the ring, as well as entertain children.

One of the skits has all of the clowns in the middle ring preparing a stairwell and a level. I forgot what it's called, but it looks like this:

(Well I can not find any images) But imagine a triangle in the middle and a board on top of the triangle.

Basically, we had a child stand on one end, and a big clown stand on top of a stand. We begin to count down from three until at three, "Uncle Sam" stops the countdown and brings in another clown from the sidelines and puts him at the stands. Then it counts down again and at three: the clown jumps from the stands and the board breaks. Leaving him hurt and aching.

My uncle and another clown rushes in with a stretcher and looks at the injured clown for awhile. But instead looks at the broken board and instead puts it in the stretcher. At this time, all the kids laugh like hell as the emergency clowns bring in the broken board back inside.

The other skit I am not gonna mention because it was stupid. And it was a last minute thing. But it was more like getting ready for the cannon shoot for the next act. So heh.

Well I got some pictures from my uncle rick (Also a photographer for the Columbus Newspaper). And I hope you guys enjoy!

Pretty HD pictures too! I also got an E-mail from WTVM news 9 and they are going to send me a disc with several videos of the circus, as well as thousands of photos! I'll upload them as soon as I get them.

Here is me at 5 in the morning. I was listening to music on my PS3 while dancing.

And with the hat. It just worked.

Here is me with the clown leader. He was in charge of all the skits as well as clown coordination. Very nice guy.

Oh boy. This image below might scare people.

I was outside the Civic center trying to get people's attention. There was music (I believe Rap and Rock?) playing. I just had to get up and dance!

And finally, most of the clown gang. Me, Tex, Buttons, and my Uncle Smokey (Bottom right) all together sharing photos. I swear I must have taken about 5k photos with kids.

Like I said: When I get more. I'll post them up.
