Which flying item/form do you prefer?

I like Raccoon Mario much better than Cape Mario I find him much easier to control, and if you want to fly forever, you can use a P-Wing I have a lot of trouble with Cape Mario when I'm trying to actually fly and not just break my fall

I've never really thought about this before. I supposed that Raccoon Mario is my favorite although Cape Mario and Wing Cap Mario are also fun to play as .

Cape Mario is nice, but there's the "yay fly over the entire level" abuse that comes with it ... so I'll vote Raccoon Mario too (or Tanooki but it's the same)

I would usually use the P-Wings in a few levels Mostly that desert square in World 2 and the small airships in World 8.

But P-wings weren't exactly common and could only be used once, flying with the cape could be done anytime and anywhere with enough flat ground and no walls in the way ...

Of course, doing that with the cape was still fun sometimes, and it's not like every level could be passed that way

Yeah, you still always had to do Tubular the normal way

I forget which levels I'd decide to blow a P-Wing on... some of the later auto-scrolling levels, actually. More mobility.

I have to choose flying using Raccoon Mario. While it is nice having the cape to be able to fly around, I enjoy mashing the A button to go higher and generally have a greater amount of control of my flying.

I guess I'm a bit biased since I played a lot of SMW hacks but I prefer the cape. I like being able to hold the button when I jump to float instead of tapping, plus cape flying is more fun imo. Sure it comes with level breaking, but I make it a rule of mine to not use it for that. I'm playing the game to play the game, not skip over it.

Really the Wing Cap from Mario 64 is the best it's been done so far.

But in 2D games I prefer the cape. The sustainability of the flight is really cool even if it does lend itself to abuse.

The wonderful thing about single player games is that you can play them however you want to and no one gets to tell you you're doing it wrong.

I disagree, cape was easier for me. Too easy.

That's why I prefer Raccoon; short of a P-Wing, it wasn't infinite like the Cape could be.

I could never get the hang of the Wing Cap...

The tail requires no skill. B + > + tap A, not to mention it slows you down if you use it.

The cape keeps full speed, allows for sudden drops and gains, and generally affords you a lot more skill-based control, not to mention the sheer amount of utility it has.

Cape wins by a few miles.

I would have to say this one. The music for it was pretty awesome as well!
