I need it to be dark and without sound. Good thing I have earplugs.

You could always lower (or mute) the volume before going to bed, shutdown the speakers or unplug the headphones And disable NumLock to turn off its light (well, normally that'd do it) ...

I don't mind a small amount of light (alarm clock, computer, etc.) when sleeping, but completely dark is fine too

I wake up to the sound of incredibly loud, triumphant sounding classical music every morning.

I find the classical music tends to make me stay awake--for the weirdest reason. I have the urge to hear the whole song through since I can actually hear it (unlike the radio I have set to be too quiet to the same station as subliminal background noise at the same station.) Then it's also always near the hour and the announcer starts talking about how it's 11 o'clock or 12 o'clock and eventually I get up.

'Cuz if I don't, the music inexorably starts up another loud trumpet piece and I wake up to some loud march music or whatever they've chosen to play for whatever reason.

Pretty much the same thing here, too. Hell, I can sleep through anything once I fall asleep.

I'm not easily awoken. My alarm clock is right by my ear, and half the time I sleep through it, wake up 30 minutes before I have to go, rush to get ready, and type a run-on sentence.
