What a coincidence, I just passed Water Temple 1 hour ago. :p

The only reason I hated the Water Temple was that when I was younger I always missed at least 1 small key and had to go back to get it. :p This time I made it without going through the cycle again.

He can't swim in Link's Awakening which takes place on an island AND HE GOT THERE ON A BOAT.

You'd think after having an item that let him swim TWICE and one that let him swim better and breathe underwater he'd have learnt how to swim by himself.

Remember, Link's Awakening is Zelda4. The only game to have swimming beforehand was Zelda 3 aka Link To The Past, and those flippers were MAGICAL.

You forgot Wind Waker.

Granted it's temporary swimming, but it's swimming nonetheless.
Notice that except for Four Swords, those are all 3D games. Only for FourSwords are the Flippers not required in a 2D gane, because hey: do you really want to change your Bombs for Flippers?
