I usually drive, although living in dorms makes it very hard to keep a parking space so I usually walk, since most of the places I need to go throughout the week are not far away. I'm thinking about buying a bike, though.

I've never been on a train before. We have a station here, but it's too far for me to use and it doesn't go where I need to go, so I've never really had to bother with it.

AFAIK, Amtrak isn't very good

From Detroit you can only go to Chicago, so if I wanted to go to NYC or someplace I'd have to backtrack. I did take trains in Germany

Our train station is mainly for local travel to Ottawa, Toronto, Quebec, Halifax... we have one Amtrak connection to NYC but that's it.

Their train station is mostly for regional traffic but also has trains to Berlin and Vienna.

I live close to the city though. I will get car license some time after 02-20 next year. So once I move and get my own place I guess I will get a car...
