Mostly how I can't get a hang of the language, but that's not the point of this thread.

...

I'm WONDERING if perhaps someone who's at least proficient with C++ script could lend me their services. Not for like, coding entire programs from scratch or any such, but it'll probably get lengthy sometimes. I fully expect something along the lines of "do it ur self n00b" to be said, or better yet, no one to even reply. Been searchin' for a while and no luck. Mostly because people are (understandably, as there's no incentive of any sort) lazy cunts.

I'm just going to lend my services by telling you that I can barely read your post. Try making it a bit more readable.

As for C++, you're only going to get better by attempting it yourself. Maybe someone else can recommend their favorite sites for learning programming languages.

I'm still trying to understand where you get off calling people 'lazy cunts', when you're essentially asking someone to code for you. Where's the incentive for that?

Yeah, man, I mean, I'm proficient in C++, but if there's no incentive and you just want me to do all the work for you, there's better things for me to do with my time. :p

Yeah that post was a bit harsh with the whole lazy cunts thing. Anyway, if you make a post with a REASONABLE request, like a "How do I do this small thing?", you'll get some help. Some people might try to explain some basic algorithms to you, even. The website I like is: http://cplusplus.com/ Has a good library reference.

Okay so maybe I did go a little far with the lazy cunts thing. Sorry 'bout that. Frustration and etc. (not just related to this.) So uh, I apologize. Now, a little more background: I'm making a 2D Zelda game. Nothing super fancy, but I DO want to be somewhat fancy. Such as fully custom bosses. Which is mostly the main obstacle, more or less. Most everything else is taken care of, just bosses. I'm no where near done with said game, but I'm at a point where I could use the first boss.

All the work? It'll definitely be a noticeable chunk of it, but it's not like I'm asking someone to code me a large-scale uber program, or an entity with the most sophisticated AI ever that would put those japanese robots to shame (because, they can express emotions somewhat). I understand that coding is time-consuming, yes. So's putting the rest of the game together. If I said something like "Hey here's a hundred (or whatever amount of money would be reasonable.) bucks if you do this and that and etc...." I'd get like a bajillion responses. Besides, it's not like I am DEMANDING someone sit for fifteen (or whatever) consecutive hours and just code away, that'd just be retarded.

Bleh, I dunno. I've been seeking assistance since forever now, and it doesn't seem like things will end well, which'll just result in an either scrapped, or watered-down end result. Most likely watered down since I resolved from almost the beginning that I'd complete it no matter what. Which sounds kinda corny, but I'm adamant about finishing this game.

Another thing to remember is ZScript is a derivative of C++, so you wouldn't even get the full power of C++ in your scripts. ZScript documentation can be found here. Your best bet is to just experiment a bit. The way I learn is through trial and error. If something doesn't work, I try something else until it does work. And I learn from trial and error.

It doesn't seem your problem is something specific to C++. Assuming you have the engine working (you said you are already in a point you could use a boss), have you tried programming some very simple enemies? Look at some NES games for inspiration, develop a simple movement pattern, one or two types of attack and then you're on your way to your boss.

Currently, this seems more a rant than any kind of request.

It still seems like you want someone else to do all the programming and you "put together the rest of the game". Okay, so you pick a few midis off the internet, a few sprites, and then tell someone else to make them all actually work? I don't really think that's going to motivate a lot of people to help you. I learned C when I was 11 years old just by reading some basic programming tutorials on the internet. It's an incredibly simple language to get the hang of once you've started, and I promise you if you just sit down with it for a few hours you'll understand it, too.
