Mice or mouses?
How do you pluralize "mouse" in a computer context?

I had someone harangue me on using "mice" as the plural of "mouse" a while back. What do you think?

My preference is for "mice", like the animal. "Mouses" just sounds weird.

And as an aside, back in the pre-USB Pentium I days we had a computer with 2 mice attached One was PS/2 and one was DE-9, and they both worked.

*votes Mice

It just sounds right to me and I can't say it any other way.

I know I've said both, but the former stems from me not correctly knowing how to pluralize "mouse" in the first place (back when I was still learning )

Actually I prefer mouses for computer mouses. They're not usual mice that eat cheese and get hunted by cats.

I actually called a mouse a rutabaga once.

I usually use mice, though...

Really? I thought I was just doing of those old "put a silly option on the poll" gags

What was the context of calling a mouse a rutabaga?

... What about "Mice" pronounced "Mees"?

EDIT: Screw it, I call 2 mice "consummately redundant and unavailing". I'm sure that most would still prefer the single-syllable, though.

Mice. Just the logical way of doing it.

I just call it mice, because that seems the most obvious way to say it.

I have no idea.

Probably the mention of them in a Sound Club song, and having said song stuck in my head while talking about mice.

This...is something that I've never had to think about before . If I did for some reason have to say a sentence that contained the plural form of computer mouse I suppose that I would say "computer mice".
