Daily Cycle II ~ -2802
I was reminded of this game by downloading the soundtrack.

Anyone else played it? I was hooked on it for a while, until I got somewhere in the water-level-rising crap and realized that "Oh, practice battles give you levels", then it basically became turbo-A and... well, not that fun.

Too bad it killed all interest in the game for me, it had a good story and interesting gameplay until that point :/

The games gameplay is excellent except for the practice parts... I cleared it once... Might play it again. Also liked the bath scenes

It's a typical game with a bit of zmogs pron in it.

That's what killed it for me. I was getting butchered thoughout the game, then realizing you had to abuse it... Several other things got me (like the "MaxHP -7%" type notices, wher eI thought you actually lost HP and not just lost it for a few battles)... so I didn't do many of the actions.

It's one of those games that I wouldn't mind playing with a "9999" character set (i.e., invincible).

I guess I'm a weirdo, since I like storylines of games and not the grindplay :/

I played it a little on GBA when it was just out, last my saves (emulation) and didn't want to do it again.

Actually, the multiple endings are dating-sim game based even though it's a beat-em-up-type RPG. It's one of those games that you have to play at least once if not twice to appreciate it. For the megalomaniac, there's a bunch of things to do in the game and most of them are only found if you know what the hell you're doing. Some of the minigames, though usually a few seconds, have sometimes taken me minutes to do.

The fight system in general is really not that hard and overabusing Practice is what makes the game easy as hell. The real trick is maneuvering through the game with what little you have to go on in terms of movement and getting the absolute best rank possible in the game and score. THAT'S how it sticks the user because it would've been a sub-par RPG otherwise.

Heh, I played through it while cheating for move points and alike. I had fun with this games story, there are so many paths and choices. Also getting that other ending is a pain.

I found the bath scenes by mistake, however, they seem to be in other games made by the same company. See Yggdra Union.

Heh, great, now you got me wanting to play this again.

Nintendo Power subscribers got a DVD from E3 2005 containing a bunch of trailers, and this was on there. Looks nice; hand-drawn artwork is pretty, etc.

There was a bunch of voice acting in the trailer... are there any voice samples in the actual game?

There are, but nothing overly significant. Just attack names and stuff like that. They're mostly sound bytes.

They just released a port for the PSP... upgraded graphics, voice acting, a new chapter and other odds and ends I believe. Looks purdy.

Really great, original game. Easy to play through, mind you, but like Hiryuu said you need to memorize everything to get a perfect score.

Almost forgot about that fact. Yet another reason to get a PSP.

A game with pr0n in it on a Nintendo system? Something doesn't add up here.

Well maybe not pron, but ... risque, at least.

I've never seen it, but I've heard about it from everyone else

Well I can post the two images if any one is interested.

Also I freaking love this game. There are difrent endings depending on how you play.
Though the final battle kinda suck. (I had the ultimate machine(I think that was the name) though )
Fun game long. But zero re-play value if you ask me.

ESRB rating for both versions:

GBA: T; Mild Fantasy Violence, Sexual Themes, Use of Drugs
PSP: T; Mild Fantasy Violence, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, Use of Drugs

Guess they were asleep at the switch when the GBA version came out unless they added stuff...

Asleep... that or no one told them and they had X days to play though the game. Ok, things dying, but it's fantasy... hmm innuendo.... ah, alcohol...

Random ESRB agent slaps a T rating and is done with it.

Well I dunno if they added some cutscenes for the PSP version or if it's more in your face.

Granted, this was before Hot Coffee but still. Not on the ball.
