Haven't had one in a while.

When I did, it was with cheese and bacon.

But now I want to make one with cheese, ham, onions and peppers.

Too bad I don't have any eggs.

This thread reminds me of how I haven't had (good) an omelet in an extremely long time. Either way I usually enjoy cheese, meet, and bacon on mine.

All of these food related threads are making me hungry

I eat them at least weekly. Although I don't really have a choice of what to put on them, I usually have peppers, onions and tomatoes with my omelet.

Definitely tastes great with them.

Oh, that does sound good. I'm going to have to try that. Especially with hot salsa.

I considered putting salsa on the poll but didn't think it counted since it's a topping more than something you cook into it. Now I'm regretting not doing so.

my absolute favorite omelet comes from a small diner in san francisco, olympic cafe. it features jack cheese, marinated artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and avocado.. fantastic. I'm usually hesitant about getting tomatoes in an omelet because they tend to turn out watery and flavorless, but this diner manages to get it right.

I'm also fond of the taco ole omelet - vegetarian chili, avocado, salsa, jack cheese and sour cream

damn I love omelets. if money wasn't an issue I'd be hitting up diners all the time for them.

Nothing, I don't like omelets.

Prefer scrambled eggs myself...

That being said, if I was forced to have one, I'd stick with cheese.

No "other" option? Has anyone ever tried okonomiyaki? Probably not because its a specialty of Japan's Kansai region!! Sometimes people say it is more like pancake but actually it is sort of very like a omelet. It is filled with meats and sauce and other delicious things. If you are ever in Kyoto or Osaka you need to try it! Personally I love the kind with bits of octopus, or the hirayachi-style with simple ingredients. Easy to make as a matter of fact...!

---------------------------- Now that you mention it, octopus and such are quite good in an omelet too. It's not like okonomiyaki (becouse that's like the best thing you can eat ever and now I am hungry), but it's better than the usual omelet.

Chose everything on that list but mushrooms. They're ok in certain things, but not omelets.

I make omelets a lot with my girlfriend, we've tried all kinds of different combinations of ingredients. I think my favorite is cheddar cheese, bacon, salsa, jalapeno, potato, and onion. Sooo good.

I have only had an omlette a few times, and I know that each time there was cheese included with the meal. I might try to have one somewhat soon, if the egg supply permits.
