Right before a storm, can you smell the rain before it falls?

Yeah.

It's like "Gotta get the fsck inside."

EDIT: I like being in the rain though. I just don't want my Zune getting wet. D:

Yeah, occasionally. I can also smell winter in the air around mid-October or so.

All the bloody time!
It's like a weird muggy sticky smell, but I rely more on my vision to tell when Rain's approachin (dark clouds, lighting, stuff that scares children, etc.)

And how about that wet asphalt smell? Always can smell that after a good rain.

Smells like rain. Yes.

What does rain smell like? Best way I can explain it is a very thick musky smell. Like that kinda smell you sense when you are in the car while it's raining. And you swear it's the humidity getting to your seats.

That kinda smell.

Yes, I can.

Considering how rare rain is here, it's a nice smell. Though the rain only lasts for a few minutes most of the time.

Now with 60% more chance of spontaneous combustion.

Yes. And I somewhat like it.

And I don't care what you say about humidity being horrible. I can't stand when it doesn't rain, which has been most of the summer.

Definitely. It has that characteristic smell of water that tells you to get cover.

I enjoy when it rains and it's bright/sunny as hell outside.

Or if you look west and it's dark clouds in the sky, but if you look in another direction, it's bright and beautiful out.

Shiny new layout!
----------------------------------------------------

Quite easily in fact.

One time the smell actually hit me surprisingly hard and I just... stopped. Unfortunately this was during marching band practice and the person next to me wasnt too happy XD.

I love that smell though...

When I get rain, it smells like beach.

Beach. I can't describe it any other way. And I don't especially like randomly smelling beach everywhere for the next like 15 minutes.

After the rain, though, I REALLY like that smell. Mmm.

Also, what FirePhoenix said about smelling Winter. I've always kinda been able to smell cold. By that I mean, the scent of the cold that comes from frosted leaves, bark, grass and concrete, and the smell of snow, which always makes me thirsty for some reason...

*Silver_Skree stuffs his face with a handfull of snow.

Plus, freezer and 'fridge cold. No matter what freezer or 'fridge it comes from, it's like I can identify, "Hey! That's been in a 'fridge recently! Or in a freezer! Or whatever!"

...
Also, this makes me have the most peculiar curiosity of what Outer Space would smell like if you could smell it. Like, fill it up with totally pure and scentless gasses like oxygen and take a good whiff.

I love watching rain from safe indoors, or a patio or something like that. Just sit there and watch the rain come pouring down. And on a patio, you get to hear all the rain as well as it lands all over but you still remain dry. It's a sort of magical feeling to be honest...

I got caught in one of these about a month ago. I always thought it was called a "witch's wedding" when that happened, but I apparently got my wires crossed.

And yes, I can smell it. It's just this... musty smell that tells you to get your ass under an awning or something.
The scent in the air after a good rain is always refreshing, especially since it's usually coupled with far cooler air outside.

Definitely. I can smell the moisture in the air before and after it rains.

Winter... no, I can't smell it. I FEEL it.
