So, yeah, I read through a fair amount of it, and it's actually more depressing than anything.

Of course, I suppose I should have expected it, considering the fact that most real stories about nice people who get sucked into absolutely insane groups with a power hungry leader aren't usually cheery anecdotes.

I could argue with you on the first point, but now is not the time.

Anyway, I was referring to the fact that many people seemed to think that it would potentially be a humorous story, even though it's apparently quite the opposite. Now, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, as I hadn't thought about it much before reading it, but, yeah, in retrospect, the true nature of the story should have been a bit more obvious than it was.
