OH GOD

I hated Demyx! HATED HIM! I was stuck at that part of the game for ages! And then I finally manage to get by him, on luck alone, and I blast through the game-- that is, until I had to fight Xaldin. Wind magic is so incredibly *cheap*... ;o;

Atomos from Final Fantasy V.
First, use a ridicously overpowered Comet spell to hit someone. If you leveled up to survive the attack (you need a lot of those extra HP or just the right job ability), then you think you survive?
No, the boss uses another Comet in the same turn. I wonder if this continues if you have something like 8000 HP.
Now, when the person's down, Atomos will use his suction attack and move any dead people towards him. If you don't revive them, they will be removed from battle. I still wonder how that idea was created. Maybe inside the development team, betting for one bottle crate of beer that you cannot create a boss enemy like that

You know, Atomos was never an issue for me. The first time, I just switched to a team of all Chemists and drank enough to make my liver explode with the force of a dozen A-bombs. The second time, I used a normal team and still forced my way through, but it was a little trickier.

I guess the lesson in this is that a team of Chemists is godly if you're willing to throw away a few thousand gil each fight.

Nothing that bad comes to mind, so I'll just list a few annoying ones.

First of all, I'm with those of you who dislike the Biolizard and Demyx, although I despise the Biolizard much more.

Anyway, Phantron II from Star Fox (The guy right before Andross) has done a very good job at tripping me up right before the finish line with its ridiculously high HP and its ability to throw homing missiles at you in such a manner that you pretty much either attack him and get blown up, or dodge at sneak in a shot every age or so.

A specific name escapes me, but Robotnik at the end of the Metropolis Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has been a source of great frustration for quite a while now, and it hardly got any better as time went on.

Now, while the Warmech from Final Fantasy is technically a regular, yet extremely rare and powerful enemy, it's ability to come out nowhere when you least expect it and blow everything up before you can even determine how dangerous it is never ceases to make one feel stiffed.

...Oh, and the Buebeam Trap from Mega Man 2. Fire one too many shots with the only weapon that is used both to damage the boss and to get the ability to damage it? Tough luck!

The boss in metroid prime. I don't know what he is called, you know the boss you fight at the end of the place were you get the wave beam. That's a bullshit boss for me.

The Mama Sheegoth? She's not too hard if you realize that you can bomb her underside. That and when missiling her throat, it's much easier to manual aim.

Speaking of the Primes, and I think this was brought up last page, I don't understand why everyone has so much trouble with Spider Guardian. I guess people are just impatient or aren't good at puzzles like that, or something because I found him to be relatively easy and probably the most unique and enjoyable boss fight in that whole game. It's a boss you fight entirely in morph ball, something that hadn't been done before.

The idea of a bossfight in morph ball is kinda cool and all. But due to the fact that your movement is very limited the bossfight is more like a big puzzle that hurt a bit more the normal. Not that the fight is hard or anything.
As for most enjoyable boss in that game I would have to say is the torvus bog temple guardian. It's just very fun to fight!

The spider guardian is probably considered lame because the bomb and boost timings aren't relevant ... anywhere else. Sure just using boost and double bomb jump and so forth come up during the game but you probably don't try to kill anything that moves with the bombs until the boss. It is a little difficult when the first time you try to use an ability is against a boss. Also you have to choose between careful movement or fast movement, because you're probably no good at fine control of the boost ball, so it feels crappy and slow compared to the pace of the rest of the game.

That said, the spider guardian was fucking awesome, and I don't know what the haters are talking about.

This. On Intense Mode.
But then again, all the bosses preceding Tabuu are just ridiculously tough anyway on that mode.
I hardly, if ever, get to Tabuu on Intense. First time I successfully cleared it, it was conveniently recorded by my brother.
That was over a year ago, and I've only cleared it only one other time on Intense since then.

What? That boss is pretty tame. The Great Commander ship from route 3 is bullshit. I'll admit it was a creative concept to make the battle joust-esque, but there are six TINY targets to hit, are barely open, and it's barely possible to beat that boss. Then, once you actually beat the boss, you get to fight him again on the surface in his second form, which I actually believe is more difficult than Andross himself!

Oh, come on. Child's play right there once you memorize the pattern.

Now, getting through that battle without taking a single hit... good luck.

I'm assuming you're referring to Omega pirate then.
