Just a note.

Waluigimaster, for any further stuff beyond just posting about swapping backgrounds, please go into the mods topic and get approval to post a topic separately about your hack.

Other people: This topic will now contain information on swapping backgrounds, since it seems to be an area somewhat distinct from TT64... for now.

Interesting thing I found.
The background 0x19 serves as a double use. For the background textures and also COLORS!!!!

I pondered the no background thing and started messing with it.

After a while I noticed that if I put a color code in the three bytes after 19 the background would be that color.

So I just thought I would point out. That FF in this case is 255 not (-1). So that also means that Tick Tock Clock has a blue Background. The reasoning for that is because of the fog effect on the bottem.

Edit: this is the 802763D4 noded.

I already know how to get the bank offset into Hex Workshop, and I also know what to set it to. I just don't know how to change the offset in the hex editor?

While working on a background importer, found this useful information:

At 0x80330f00 there's a table for each of the background texture list pointers (that's what the parameter of the 0x19 command does), found at the end of background banks.

0x802cfa2c is the function uses this information and generates display lists for background textures.

Do any of these background importer support hi-res textures? I am under the impression that to load hi-res backgrounds I would have to do it at plugin level, which means I'd have to find out what textures go where and in what order. Then I'd have to rename every image according to the positioning of the old files. That sounds like alot to keep track of, so I hope its not the case. TIA
