everything seems to have less detail and things are less round. Probably to bypass the issues they were having with the 360.

This.

Unsurprising...but considering it'd make it better for the console overall, I'm not really surprised that resolution and graphics are down a bit.

Now if this was an exclusive like it was supposed to be initially...

I doubt it's because of 360 actually.
Concerning graphics, if you compare a game that is multi-platformed, like say.. GTA4, Mass Effect, or Fallout 3, 360 has much better detail, texture, and less laggy (a lot less laggy)

now, tell me. why is that? :3
hmm?

obviously the reason for the graphics to downgrade is because neither systems will handle the graphical power of FF13, I mean.. look at it. It looks like a CGI film.

There is no way it could be handled regularly without immense horrendous lag.

I would actually have to disagree with this.

(BTW, Mass Effect is only on 360 and PC)

From what I've seen, as far as graphics, the Ps3 wins, hands down.

PC looks better.

Okay, so Fallout 3 looks slightly better on 360.

And I just can't believe that I am going against my 360, but since the start, I've always thought that the Ps3 is better graphic wise.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Bioshock comparison. Especially with the opening scene.

Not number 2!

Anyway, my unbiased 2 cents, and I own a 360, not a PS3.

THE HARDWARE: PS3, hands down. Faster CPU, better graphics processor, much more efficient memory.

PERFORMANCE: PS3 seems to have fewer lockups and better frames per second overall.

APPEARANCE: 360 looks incredible in high-def, anti aliasing and Anisotropic filtering is definitely utilized so environments appear more crisp and edges are less jagged. This is particularly surprising considering it has an ATI and Nvidia usually (in my opinion) handles aa and af much more efficiently. Every detail looks much more crisp on a 360 than on PS3.

EDIT: I'll add one thing though, the PS3 can have much more polygons on screen before slowdown, it also handles advanced AI a bit better.

I feel the exact same way, actually. You took the words right out of my mouth!
*highfives Nelrith*

anyway, back to the topic.
I'm kinda disappointed in the graphic downgrade, I just hope the cutscenes will have that Ultimate CGI look still

Your wish is granted.

Also, I agree. PC all the way!

To try to steer the topic back on track, so could it be the reason for the change in graphics be because of the Ps3?

It's because those games are developed on a certain compat-engine some third party made which screws up on the PS3. I think that because they were originally intending for this to be PS3, they are having trouble moving things over to the 360.

It always happens with multiplatform... One system gets screwed over and it doesn't matter which one it is either... Look at SNES and Genesis for a good example of this. So many games released on both but it always seemed one system got screwed over in the end.

Look at Earthworm Jim, and the differences between the SNES and Genesis versions.

Going to reiterate what Tanks said, just about all multiplatform games are made on the 360 because of its ease, saving the dirty porting for later to a much more difficult processor.
