I found an intriguing roguelike-styled game with decent graphics called Elona.

It's really rather fun, and has a surprising amount of depth; I'm surprised that it's not more popular than it is at the moment. I thought that most people on Jul would enjoy this game. The graphics are simple; just enough to add to the quality of the game.

	This again? Yea setz tried to push this a while back. And here I'm hearing people (Colin) picking up Nethack again. What's up with the rogue obsession as of late...is August the month for them or something? If that's the case, I really need to do something with Baroque. That game's just not on my high list of things I want to touch ever again though. ____________________

I view Nethack (and other roguelikes) as a distraction. They're easy to pick up and play, they're fun, you die a lot and never feel like you'll make any progress... yet you try again.

(DS is full of roguelikes, too... Izuna, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Shiren the Wanderer...)

Heard good things about Elona but never tried it. Might need to rectify that.
