So I was sitting here ripping a DVD when Opera crashed. Naturally I go to kill it and BOOM, bluescreen.
There goes my 70 days of uptime. ____________________ JOIN #PROG YOU JERKS.

After about a month of uptime my computer slowly starts crapping itself. I've got two weeks left.

Mine used to last only 8 hours, brand new. Pretty much, it would go until then then everything would slow to a crawl, the internet wouldn't work anymore and if I tried to ctrl+alt+del it would say, "Failure - Login process has failed to create the security options dialog" with an error sound. It was some weird bug in Vista that was fixed with SP2.
It's been on constantly since then.

 | This is why I don't care that that the longest uptime that my computer has ever had is about 48 hours . I'm sure that if I tried leaving it on for about a week straight I would probably get a blue screen due to the fact that my computer is fairly old and unstable .

Like Nelrith, I also have Vista, and pre-SP(unknown #) the fan would NEVER kick on. This led to working on stuff and not hearing anything, and working some more, and working a bit more, then suddenly: malfunction. Blue screen with white text tells me some error and an address that was mostly 0s with one (or two) non-zero. But with the fan working, I know when my computer is stressing out. But then again I also know that most programs are a bit hard with my computer, even the simple Zelda Classic requires an entire core.(or slightly less)
I also haven't checked maximum uptime, but I feel I can safely say I've had it up for a week before. (Idle time is actually twice what it should be due to having twin cores, I guess) Opera (my browser) says fifty minutes, while Firefox (my mom's browser) says eleven hours. Who's better at browser management, me or her?

I have had some bluescreens in Vista and XP. None in Windows 7 so far but I barely use that. They were all hardware problems though, not software. (Back in the 9x days I had tons of bluescreens, at least three a day, usually consecutively, cascading from one problem. I tend to ask rather a lot of the computers I use, and sometimes do unusual things to save time that aren't always the safest method of getting the job done.)
However ... my maximum uptime under Mac OS X, is 119 days before there was a software update or I needed to travel or something so I rebooted or shut the laptop down. I can now run Steam inside VirtualBox or CrossOver Games just fine, so I am considering just removing my Windows partition entirely and trying to maybe beat 119 days.
Under XP ... I think with sporadic use, I've gotten maybe a month out of it, but most of the time the machine was in standby mode and only was woken occasionally, and that was on another machine entirely (and on my MacBook Pro maybe a day or two. I only use Windows to play games really.)
Vista ... I think a matter of hours, mostly because ... I mainly wanted to fiddle with and learn the OS somewhat, and then I didn't use it for anything for a long time. Windows 7 uptime is maybe a couple days.
