Holy crap.

They must really want a piece of Google then.

IF they replace the Yahoo thing with Bing, though, they can kiss my patronage goodbye.

I don't want to use Google or Bing or any of these newfangled things which do things I don't want with my search engine thing. I just want results, and I want them the same way they've been done for years, before Google even existed.

Man, they already wrecked the search layout.

Screw them, I'm using Altavista now.

Doesn't Google own Youtube? So if they do divert sales from Google, wouldn't that affect Youtube as well?

Funny enough, I was thinking "wonder what metal is going to do now" when I heard about the merger.

I don't see why people USE yahoo anyways. I've yet to make a search with them I couldn't find faster and easier with google

It's all perception. I grew up with Yahoo, so I use it to find things 3x faster than I could with Google.

Of course, with the new crud layout and incoming Bing suckiness, I move to Altavista, which in truth is just using Yahoo's old engine with an Altavista skin. It works well enough for me.

If they do that in, then, in my desperation, I shall have to make do with Ask (*shudder*) since I hate Google mercilessly for destroying my favorite search engine and being hypocrites who go 'Do no evil' and then do evil.

Heck, I'd be fine with the merger if it hadn't meant the destruction of the reason I USE Yahoo. Gee. You'd think they'd realize Yahoo users use it because it is Yahoo. And would leave if they vastly changed it.

Steve Ballmer on merger.

If there’s a thirteenth-century Italian art dealer in the world, they’re going to buy keywords on Google, and they may not buy them today on Yahoo! and Microsoft. Yet, if you’re purchasing for thirteenth-century Italian art, you don’t probably want a book on Italy, which might be at the most relevant ad one place or more relevant somewhere else. So, this partnership is about product improvement, customer understanding, and scale for advertising relevance.

Well, we know where this is headed.

And here's a handy poll to show what the average person things.

Or at least, these people in the UK don't like the idea any more than I do.
