So if this does end up happening, what program do we fall back to? Skype is all I've ever used. (Not saying that I think it's going to happen, but just in case...)

The only good part is that there's nearly a whole year before anything happens, legal-wise. Court date is only set for June 2010. but if Skype does go down, I'm not sure what else there is to use.

Man, I would have loved it if Google ended up buying Skype; I imagine they'd finally open up the protocol and fix up all of the unpleasant niggles that bring down an otherwise fantastic program.

Then again, I'm biased towards Google, so this is probably an unrealistic prediction.

Glad to see Skype will be around to stay, though.

I had to use Skype for a class. Right around when the class ended, my mic broke and I didn't bother replacing it.

I'm old-fashioned, I like AIM.
