They gave me dissolving stitches. I never went to my follow up, and the stitches are gone. There is a hole back there, but I can easily clean it out using mouthwash.

Needless to say, you'll be over the hump tomorrow more than likely. Now would be a good time to brush your teeth. Your mouth I am assuming is raunchy.

Also, chicks dig guys with their wisdom teeth out *Cool nerd pose*

Yeah... I've been trying to brush, but there's only so much I can actually reach. My mouth must smell like a dead fish from all the salt water I've been gently rinsing with.

I'm willing to bet the dentist will comment on my breath odor, regardless of how hard I try.

They are used to it. After all, they have to deal with kids you know.

I remember brushing my teeth as a kid on rare occasions. So I doubt they will comment on you.

I wonder why I didn't get dissolving stitches. Urg, those were fun when they were being pulled out.

I doubt it. Chances are, it can't be that bad because you've been eating liquid foods. If you had a solid piece of food in your mouth for several days, then it would be really bad.

I love how some people rarely brush their teeth and have no problems, and others brush their teeth regularly and get cavities. Not fair.

Yeah, I don't brush my teeth that often. Just mouthwash.
Never had a problem with cavities. I've got super-enamel or something.

Had a few problems when I was younger, not so much now. I try to use mouthwash when I remember.

I've had a grand total of one cavity and it was a small one on a tooth that wasn't sealed.

Can't deal with morning breath as it is so...I brush fairly often...baking soda and peroxide no less.

I can't do the "three times a day" toothbrushing thing, though I often squeeze in two (one in the morning, one at night). As for mouthwash .. I never use it. I can't stand the burning sensation.

I've no problem with Listerine or anything similar at all. 30-40s and I'm finished with it.

Course I was through braces for 10 years so I pretty much got used to pain in my mouth.

I'm going through a time right now where my gums are in danger. They're relatively unhealthy and so I'm trying to repair them enough that I won't have to spend time and money seeing a periodontist. I just finished a week-long regimen of using this Gly-Oxide stuff that's supposed to help and am now using mouthwash in its place until i can use it again. I also had Sensodyne toothpaste to help the pain along the gumline. So far it seems to be helping.

Going through a bunch of taffy and then leaving it for three months isn't a good idea you know. :\

Well, that's a relief. Still, I made sure I washed my mouth and brushed my teeth several times. The appointment is in 30-45 minutes. I'm hoping for the best.

This girl I know, she had major reconstructive jaw surgery two days ago.
Sounds pretty awful.

It's all in what kinds of stuff they eat from what I've been taught. Or what periodontist blame for why some people do get disease and others not: the host =P

Getting the stitches out was quick, but not painless. They came out pretty easily, except he missed one the first time. We had to drive all the way back just to sit in the chair for less than a minute and drive all the way back. Hopefully, things will be back to normal now!

I'm afraid I don't brush as much as I should, but I try to at least brush once a day.

I only brush once a day, unless I am going somewhere. Although sometimes I bush my teeth without realizing what I'm doing, up until I'm done...

I'm just glad I haven't had any major surgeries. Hell, even the time I broke my arm was fairly painless after the initial pain wore off.
