On to the point. Sitting here beside me, covered in dust I might add, is a dinosaur.

Pentium II processor is about the only specs I remember. I'm willing to bet that it has about 256mb ram and 30gb total HDD space, split on two drives.

Now, assuming this thing fires up when I put a PSU in it, what does Jul propose I do with it?

Try to come up with something more creative than "Throw Damn Small on it".

Maybe I could set it up as a small server, or microwave the HDD.

Got everything hooked up and in order, and fired it up.

Damage report:

Faulty case fan; no worries, I'll leave the side casing off it starts to overheat (doubt it will)
HDD activity; says that there's a bootable OS on the drive (prolly reformat it, depending)

Everything else seems normal. No POST errors.

You know they STILL sell Socket 7 fans and manufacture them...I should know because I put DOS systems together constantly that are 233MHz MMX.

I'm surprised they still make PCI vid cards that are DOS compatible.

I had some Epic Pinball tables, I remember...

Sadly, one of three tables I bought worked: Deep Sea. Crash & Burn refused to install (bad disk), and the Enigma disk was just plain broken.

Oh well.

I have a computer somewhat similar to this, except I don't have the room in my room to set it up like I'd want.

Of course, all it really CAN run are DOS games and Damn Small since it only has 28MB of RAM.

Apogee-wise, off the top of my head... Obviously Duke Nukem 1 and 2, Rise of the Triad, Boppin and Raptor. (Tyrian > Raptor but the latter is still a good shooter.)
