I'm not actually sure humans would turn blue. Rat skin is incredibly thin compared to humans, especially the ears and...er...paws(?) where the blue is more prominent. Rat's also have far less blood than we do, so the dye is more concentrated.

It just depends on variables we don't know, like how much dye was added.

I'm sure the dye would wear off.

And about the same time you'd actually recover your functions, rather than being paralyzed.

Of course, this is coming from someone who likes copious amounts of blue.

Simple enough; if making a change will cost a bit more up front but lower prices in the long term, they'll invest in it.

Much like other treatments; government funded research would go to the government, meaning that they would not be paying some big pharma company inflated prices.
