I heard about this. Apparently only http://img.4chan.org/* is blocked, and it's mainly a southern California thing. I'll see if I can dig up that article.

The update in the article I linked indicates it's nationwide.

Also, while /b/ and me have... never really gotten along, my issue is simple--if they can just ban one site randomly, then where does it stop? Nowhere.

I pay for this connection so I can connect to the internet. Not have someone tell me what I can and can't see.

4chan should be blocked from everywhere. Period. Let this be your one exception. Honestly, something awesome like this happens and everyone's past comments of 4chan become hypocritical. Now is the time to rejoice, if they take it a step further and block other sites... Then you should be alarmed.

But you see, they will use this as a precedent to do that, and then you won't have crud to tell them to stop with.

That's just how laws go. Let them get away with a precedent and the whole house falls. It's nonsensical, but lol, legal system.

If they discover that they are able to restrict access to one site without hassle, what's to stop them from doing it on other sites? Suddenly general porn sites could be blocked and then where does it stop? Granted, this is an extreme case but my point still stands.

Ever action opens doors to both the negative and positive. I'm sure if they swayed towards the negative, blocking other sites, there will be enough public outcry to prevent it. Heck, I bet $20 that if a major ISP blocks 4chan, another ISP will advertise that it 'allows 4chan' just to cash in on it. Remember I said that guys.

And so did I a few posts ago, yet I did mention something about sometimes not having a choice in service provider.
