If the adventurers listened closely, they could hear the faint sound of snoring coming from Kattwah's bag... It seems Ninetales had fallen asleep in the PDA.

The four adventurers had not stopped to take any naps yet, instead continuing to explore the dark mine shaft...

William walked closer to the wall of the shaft, where he saw some sparkling lights... which turned out to be 50 SP! Behind them, he found a tunnel leading to another section of the mine shaft...

Kattwah landed his strike 3 -- right on the Glumba waddling around the shaft. The Superstrike landed for a sizeable 12 damage, providing an instant KO, 60 SP and 6 coins...

Sukasa wandered over a square to find 5 coins lying on the floor.

Darkdata also found a bit of change lying around...5 more coins went into his pockets.

The group followed William through the tunnel to another section of the mine shaft. From farther down the tunnel, they could hear something... it sounded like footsteps.

Preparing themselves for a fight, the four proceeded with caution...

...

...turning a corner, the four found themselves face-to-face with a large brown mole.

Mole: Oh, hello there! How did you four get into the mines?

The mole agreed to show them the way out of the mine shaft. As they followed him out, the mole introduced himself.

Mole: The name's Tim Mole, though most of the little'uns around here call me Pa. I was headin' through here on the way home, and I heard some kind of commotion coming from this way, and wouldn't ya know, that thief Croco went dartin' past like he was running from a ghost. I take it you four gave him what for?

As the four nodded in confirmation, Pa chuckled.

Pa Mole: Ohoho! Ain't seen anyone who could make that croc run so fast since Mario came by here last. Good job, guys!

The four reached the exit to the mines, where they saw the small town of Moleville in front of them...

It looked to be late afternoon here in Moleville as Pa Mole led the four to his house in the center of town.

Pa Mole: I'm home, Ma!

Another mole, wearing an apron, turned from the sink where she was washing dishes.

Ma Mole: Oh! Who are these four, Pa?

Pa Mole: They're travellers who got lost in the mines. Found 'em wandering around in the dark up there.

Pa Mole turned back to the four adventurers.

Pa Mole: This is Tess, my wife. Everyone calls her Ma, though.

???: Papa!

A young girl mole came jumping from her bed, running to Pa and giving him a hug.

Pa Mole: Haha, how are you tonight, Dyna?
(turning back to the adventurers) This is our daughter, Dyna, and sleeping over there is baby Mite. They're quite the handful...

Pa smiled down at Dyna and picked her up.

Pa Mole: Why don't you four take a nap at the inn and then take a look around town? Adventurers like you can probably do with visitin' the shop for some goodies too. You can stop in and talk with some of the other moles here too. They might be able to help ya out.

(OOC: Yeah, 5½F. It's the rest floor though, so there won't be (m)any things here that can hurt you...)

William: Well then. Thanks for all your help!

William left Pa's house and looked around. He could see the Item Shop and Inn but he pondered about what he really needed. He only needed to restore FP which wasn't too important to him and he had a lot of items as it was.

William: You guys stock and rest as needed. I'm good to go when you are ready.

William headed to what would be square 13, seeing a normal house.

Kattwah: Never thought we'd find hospitality down here... up here in this... you know, I'm not even sure it's a tower anymore.

He thinks for a second and gives the moles his regards and thanks before taking out the PDA

Kattwah: Hoy Ninetales, we found a place to rest... and surprisingly we get great signal in here... mind doing a bit of GPS work in the meantime?

He holds onto the PDA for now, and instead goes over to square 18 where he -thinks- he sees a spinning mushroom on the house. He shrugs and knocks on the door.

Kattwah: Hello in there? Is this an item shop or can you point us to one?

After thanking Pa and Ma, the four left to look around town.

William walked over to another house, but found the door to be locked. No one answered a knock, either...
Interestingly, the lock in the door seemed to be made of gold, just like the key he had...

The other three adventurers, Kattwah, Sukasa, and Darkdata, all walked over to the item shop. A kindly old mole greeted them inside.

Shopkeeper: Hm? Oh, we have visitors! Welcome, welcome! Come inside and take a look around. It isn't often we have visitors here in Moleville, but hopefully we have something you can use...

While three of the four adventurers headed to the shop to stock their item bags, one headed to a different area of town...

William inserted his key into the lock in the door. It turned easily, but suddenly disappeared once the door was unlocked...
Pulling open the door, William found an elderly mole sleeping in a rocking chair. Not wanting to disturb him, he started to close the door and leave, but the old mole had awoken from his nap...

Old Mole: Hm? Someone there?

He looked up and noticed William standing in the doorway.

Old Mole: Come in, come in! I don't usually have visitors here this time of day...

Ushering William in, the old mole introduced himself.

Old Mole: Everyone calls me Boomer...it's a nickname I picked up when I used to be a young'un. My old hobby was makin' fireworks and puttin' on firework shows here in Moleville...people would come from all over just to see 'em. I passed my business on to my nephew Monty, now; he lives up in the northeast corner of town. He's grown up to be quite a fellow, yes...

Boomer smiled.

Boomer: So, what brings you to Moleville?

William explained the situation to the old mole. Boomer smiled and nodded, getting up from his chair.

Boomer: Well, I might have somethin' for you and your buddies here... let me find them for ya.

Rummaging in a box in the back of the room, Boomer came up with a few items from inside the box.

Boomer: I've got a few things here I'd be willin' to trade for a Frog Coin or two. Give 'em a look-see!

Meanwhile, the other three were shopping at the Item Shop. Grabbing all their items, the Shopkeeper doled them out. However, when he got to Kattwah's Maple Syrup, he noticed something:

Shopkeeper: Uh-oh! Looks like you got the last Maple Syrup on the rack, there. I'm gonna have to send for another shipment...

He pulled out a pen and scribbled on his sign.

He travels over to Boomer's house and looks at his two frog coins

Kattwah: It really would be a shame to let those boots go to waste... but I do like ice... blaaaaah, decisions decisions...

He eventually forks over two frog coins for the Training Boots, equipping them as well.

Boomer's house got a few more visitors, as a couple of William's fellow explorers wandered in.

Boomer: Welcome, welcome! You must be some of William's travelling companions. Come in, take a seat, please!

The old mole welcomed Sukasa and Kattwah to his house jovially, offering them their choice of his items as well.

Sukasa was all business, quickly pulling out one Frog Coin to exchange for Boomer's Fire Band.

The others sat and chatted for a while...

...

Elsewhere, Darkdata entered the Moleville Inn. A kindly young mole was dusting some shelves behind the counter as he entered.

Innkeeper: Ah, a customer!

She hurried to the front desk to properly greet Darkdata.

Innkeeper: Hello, sir, and thank you for stopping at the Moleville Inn! The cost of a room is just 10 coins, and after a rest you'll feel fully refreshed. If you would like to stay the night, please write your name on the roster on the counter, and I'll get you set up in your room.

She curtsied and smiled, waiting at the counter for him to decide. Looking around the inn, Darkdata didn't see anyone else there... just a few shelves with dishes or books on them, and what looked like a small cot in the back corner of the inn. It seemed the innkeeper didn't have time to relax in any of the inn's beds...

...

Back in Boomer's shop, William and Kattwah were finishing their conversation and getting to the matter at hand: getting some new gear!

William traded away one Frog Coin for a Thunder Band, while Kattwah spent two to get some new Training Boots.

William thanked Boomer and then left the store, wondering where to go next.

William: Hmm... the Inn sounds like a nice idea. Get some rest before going wherever it is we are going in this place.

He looked at his surroundings again. A mole village on a rocky mountain.

William: Some tower this is, huh?

He headed towards the Inn. While he didn't need to worry so much about his health, he felt a little weak in his magical abilities. Probably might help to rest.
