I think I've heard of the 3DO.. once. I forgot it ever existed until the angry video game nerd released a review yesterday of "plumbers don't wear ties," along with a small history about the console.
if you don't care for avgn, you'll be glad to hear that he doesn't put on much of a performance in this review. the game is so horrendous that it just speaks for itself. it's easily one of his funnier videos.
after some research (wikipedia), I wasn't able to find much information on the history behind this. it was actually sold for $35 on a console that cost $700. why was it made? why was it published? is it the ultimate troll on gamers?

I just watched that thing a few hours before you posted it, and sent it to some friends just because it was so bizarre. I've never heard of this game before, but Weirdest. Game. Ever.
Plus, as someone who is an Interactive Media major, this game is like a giant list of what to NEVER do when designing ANYTHING. It puts MST3K to shame! The whole thing looks like a kindergardener went nuts with photoshop, gave it to some youtubers to make it even worse, and then their parents found out and decided to stick soft-core porn in there too.
I agree with the AVGN, it looks like some 90s college expiriment gone wrong. The only thing I can think of as to why this game was made, is it was either someone's homework assignment, a really bad idea of a joke, or both.
LOL, I saw this earlier today. I actually own a 3DO, but not this game. Kinda makes me want to buy it, since I thought I owned the worst game ever, but obviously I'm wrong.

Jul Mosts 2008 Hahahahaha! I actually watched someone play this live in Texas a couple years ago. I think they even finished it. Its badness is truly mind-boggling.
Did 3DO give away development kits for free or something?
I actually messed with 3DO via emulator (messed with the one Yuu Yuu Hakusho and the Battle Chess it had...)...and the one time that I actually messed with the console, oddly enough, was when I was on vacation in Disneyland and was staying at the hotel there (think it was the Swan) and they had one...pay-per-play no less.
- Everyone loved FMV (even though the game doesn't have much...) games back in the early/mid 90's. Cheap to make since you weren't going to get A-list (or even D-list in some cases) celebs, sucked people in with the visuals before they realized that the video was grainy and the game lasted less than an hour... win-win situation. Granted, these are games that might be better off in arcades, but still.
- Panasonic were likely desperate for any content at all for the 3DO since it wasn't like 30 games were being released each month.
- It was a romantic comedy! Who doesn't like those!
- It was rated 17+, which means the game has to be edgy! Edgy games sell well!
But yeah. F'n fiasco here.

Oh I know. Rocko's still one of my favorite shows. I meant that this game was probably put together in the same way that the Wacky Deli episode was put together in that Rocko episode. Namely, give a bunch of idiots a "Video Game Making for Dummies" book, let them go nuts and half destroy it, and then release the epic fail to the public. It will be a hit!
