So, you boot up your computer. Mess around with it, and there is that one little knick that pokes your side and annoys you. Everyone has this. We can land on the damn moon, but for some reason, there is that one little problem that annoys you every day. What would this be, and if anyone has a solution to the user's post. Feel free to share the solution!

For Christmas last year, I got me a 'better' computer than the one I head earlier. It's a decent upgrade, but not enough to play some of the high quality games out there. But it's enough to get whatever job I throw at it done.

For some reason, when I boot it up. The fans make a loud humming noise, and gradually fades away the longer I keep it on. At least, I think it is the fans: When I first heard it, I checked every fan on this computer (All eight of them) to see if the blades were colliding with any wires that might be in the way, dusted them, and manually stopped each fan upon boot (So I can check and see if it actually is the fan) however. To my surprise I am not totally sure if it is the fans or not. I could make a video showing this but I think it's just better if I wait until I build the gaming rig I have planned and not worry about it.

have you also checked the power supply fans? Before my power supply kicked the bucket, fans would make the sound like how you describe, loud when you first turn the computer on, and then the sound would gradually diminish?

It is possible to replace your power supply fans. I had another power supply that caused a capacitor on the video card to explode because the power supply operated at a too high of a temperature. I opened it up (voiding the warranty) to find that both of the fans in the power supply wouldn't spin properly anymore. Because they both were 80mm fans, I bought two new ones, cut the wires the old ones were connected to, and soldered the fan wires to the new fan, insulating the solder with heatshrink tubing. Saved myself from spending another $70 on a 600W power supply.

Psh...more than that these days, depending on the brand.

Yeah I have something like that. When my computer starts up, I have to press a key at the SATA controller BIOS screen for no damn reason and that annoys the crap out of me because I turn it on, leave to wait for it to boot and sdfcsgwheghwfguiowhmiogwxyufguiwdf it's sitting at that prompt.

I can't seem to get a mic to work no matter HOW MUCH I screw with settings.

Just records sound output. :|

I can't get a mic to work. The signal is too weak. (Same thing happens when I try to hook up an Apple IIe.)

And no, I don't have a microphone boost option.

You know, I feel like an idiot now. That is the one thing that I never checked.

Well, no use replacing it when I have a gaming comp I will be building next month. Guess I just have to deal with it for the time being.

TV Box that halfway worked in the last comp causes a blue screen on this new one.

Then, if still attached, causes half the peripherals not to even register. Hard drives and optical drives included. Had to do a System Restore just to save my ass.

I think I need to get a better one...wanted to record more stuff off the PS2/3.

Avast! VIRUS DATABASE HAS BEEN UPDATED.

Not only does this literally stop everything I am doing. But it's also loud and annoying. Is there any way to get rid of the notification? I don't care so long as it always updates.

Also, JKLHDSLFHLDHFKLHD. WHY CAN'T I CLICK OK!?

The fact that my laptop essentially requires my external cooling fan in order to not overheat. Seriously. Why does this thing run so damn hot?

Not even 5 minutes before I read this post. Someone told me about the option menu that I failed to notice. Wow.

That's Firefox, right?

Persistently click at and around the outside edges of OK. It'll let you. I know this because I discovered it entirely by accident, but maybe it's specific to my Firefox, I dunno.

I get the same thing randomly.

It's not a bug, it's a feature!

Yes, I sort of see where they're coming from, but I still think there should at least be an option to turn it off.

Or just remove that behavior altogether.
