All things considered, I don't fucking care if it means we start getting jobs again. It's hit home.

Yea, you won't care now.

You will when you're heavily in debt when you're 40 or 50.

Why would that be, exactly?

...

You're kidding right? Do you think the government just pulls this money out of nowhere? What goes around comes around. SOMEONE has to pay all of this money that we've been giving to people off. Who do you think that is? The next generation.

It won't hit immediately...it'll be a few decades down the road when things have dipped back and then taxes spikes.

Cap and trade is about ready to be another thing too that's going to piss a LOT of people off that passed the house not too long ago. Let's just compound everything with that and health care and you've got an economical landmine ready to explode.

Population: 306,853,000 (2009 estimate)

We'll assume 200 million taxable people (2/3).

$900,000,000 / 200,000,000 taxable entities = $4.50 per entity

And that's not even adjusting for the top few percent of people who are taxed more and the lower percentiles that are taxed less.

FUD. Unless you have some proof, then by all means — and if the economy isn't going, you aren't going to be able to pay your taxes anyway.

Health care is something that needs done. There are no ifs, ands, or buts. It just fucking needs done.

Not quite but...nice try anyways. I wish such a thing would be that low. Maybe you should look here first before that. It's way more than $4.50. Not to mention that this takes a look at all citizens...not just those over 18 and with a job...WAY more than 900 million right now.

Not to mention cap and trade adds a whole lot more onto that...

So most people that get born right now are already that far in debt.

Anyways, if nothing else, people are finally starting to get it anyways about Obama.

Obama states a 'no' on that plan.

Although it sounds the staff beneath him seem to think if things keep up that will probably change. Warren Buffett especially.

Psh, all this posturing about how America will charge people for saving itself is stupid.

Where do you think a lot of the money from a good economic time goes? Into the government's pockets.

They can't make money off of making poor people go into debt. They want the top % off of a rich person's check, or the extra off of somebody who is doing well.

The real poison is all this partisan positioning, be it by politicians or people on message boards. We all have something in common, want something similar, but we erect false barriers and tell ourselves lies to believe somehow, we're different, even superior to people who aren't any different.

It is this hypocrisy which has helped destroy my state. So actually, I should say, "Yes! Fight endlessly about these things!"

...

"Then the entire US can sink like California is right now!"
