I can use my CD player attached to an alarm as such.

Actually, mine's rather nice. Two alarms that can be set for buzz, radio or CD for WAKE.

The alarm clock that falls of the desk and runs around the house on its own is a lot more entertaining than this.

That, and I listen to music at night as it is.

I used to have a nice alarm clock for the PC that did looping fairly well. I used the Portal alarm theme!
