It's freeware. Vanguard Princess. Made by an ex-Capcom employee. Last build was a week ago.

I think what gets me the most is that this is freeware.

Ok. It's not working. Exe starts to work then it just dies and that's that. I see the screen and all, but I get nothing...

I'm actually shocked that this thing was made in Fighter Maker. I've never actually bumped into a completed Fighter Maker game.

And I wish I could say how it is. I've yet to figure out how to play it. When I used windows XP, I could've just used App Locale. But I'm using Windows 7, so I'm looking to see if I can outwit this little problem..

I struggled with using that Netla or whatever thing. That window in the first picture in that link at shoryuken never appeared for me. I got fed up with it, and just switched my non-standard unicode settings from english to japanese. Such a painless fix!

I'm amazed at how well polished this game is. Very well polished. It's a shame it doesn't have an online mode, but that's the downside to the old Fighter Maker stuff, huh?

Should be in your Regional and Language settings in the control panel. Not sure how to help you from there, since I use Windows 7.. but just look around for "language for non-unicode programs".

If you're using Windows 7, it'd be under the Administrative tab.

Well, I know how to do it on XP, if that's what you're using, open the Regional and Language Options window, it should be in the control panel, and then go to the advanced tab, it'll be right there.

EDIT: I'll even throw in a semi-helpful picture. And yeah, just restart.

Got it working now. I knew something would break though and that something is adblock plus... No idea why though...

Anyway, it seems fun, but I have no idea what's going on. I'm just a girl beating up other girls. It appears to me there's an assist character you can select as well, but I can only ever get her to do something after I button mash a bit...

That's kinda weird, considering my computer is in Japanese mode, and adblock plus works fine, it could be the \ -> ¥ thing, or maybe the fact that I'm pretty sure I installed adblock while in Japanese mode...
