Although I'm glad that the 360 crew isn't left out of this...but then I'm already reading the comments on this and it's making me laugh for people talking about the 'low reviews' issue.

A shame they think that. More fun for me.

You know you might have to shoot for a long time on those, right? I'm in my third run now and I'm only at 33%. Pretty sure I'm at 80 hours or so. Least four weeks playing it.

I'd say that's sound logic but then we've all seen 'crap ports'.

EDIT: It's out in -Japan- on October 1st. Not the states.

Wanted to post this because it has a lot to do with how to combo in this game. Tagging it spoiler unless you want to know how the combo system works:

First of all, when selecting skills to equip, press the triangle button to view a detailed explination of the skill. Somewhere on the right side of the screen it should say something like "D-Skill I", "R-Skill I" or "G-Enchant III", ect. This is the skill's type and level, and THIS IS WHAT DETERMINES WHAT IT CAN FORM BRANCH COMBOS WITH. There are four general types of Branch Combos: Attack Combos, Range Combos, Magic Combos, and Mix Combos.

Attack Combos: These are perfomed by chaining attack skills. There are four types of attack skills: A, B, C, and D (R-Skills work differently than these) and five levels: I, II, III, IV, and V. To perfom any branch combo, YOU MUST USE

SKILLS OF THE SAME TYPE. For example, two A-Skills or two B-Skills. The actual combo that is performed depends on what type you choose, but there is a general formula:

AtkRank I = X-Skill I + X-Skill II
AtkRank II = AtkRank I + X-Skill I + X-Skill II
AtkRank III = AtkRank II + X-Skill II + X-Skill III
AtkRank IV = AtkRank III + X-Skill III + X-Skill IV
AtkRank V = Atkrank IV + X-Skill IV + X-Skill V
AtkRank VI = AtkRank V + X-Skill V + R-Skill III

Note: X stands for the type of skill, either A, B, C, or D. To perform each rank of combo, X must be the same.Also, notice that you must perfom the combos in order of ascending Rank.

HIRYUU EDIT: One thing to keep in mind is that it DOES NOT need to be the same type of attack throughout the combo. Say you have a C-1, C-2, D-2, D-3. You can build up to ATK3 by doing: C-1, C-2; C-1, C-2; D-2, D-3. That said, it makes this combo system excessively versatile. You'd not get the same combo as doing all Cs or all Ds as what I just stated...but they are as possible as this one is.

Range Combos: These are performed by chaining Range skills. There is only one type of Range skill, and three levels.

In case you're curious, Sonic Blast is a Range I combo.

Range I = R-Skill I + R-Skill I + R-Skill I
Range II = Range I + R-Skill I + R-Skill II
Range III = Range II + R-Skill II + R-Skill III
Range IV = Range III + R-Skill I + R-Skill II + R-Skill III

Magic Combos: These are perfomed by chaining magic skills, which are designated as "Enchants" rather than "Skills".

There are 8 types and three levels.

MagRank I = X-Enchant I + X-Enchant I + X-Enchant II
MagRank II = MagRank I + X-Enchant II + X-Enchant III
MagRank III = MagRank II + X-Enchant II + X-Enchant III + X-Enchant III
MagRank IV = MagRank III + X-Enchant III + X-Enchant III

Like with Attack combos, X must be the same during each rank.

Mix Combos: Now this is where things get complicated. These combos involve multiple types of skills.

MixRank I = AtkRank I + X-Enchant II + X-Enchant II
MixRank II = MixRank I + Range II + X-Enchant III

More DLC added last night, including a dungeon.

Ended up breaking 1.5 mill last night. Helps that I figured out how to get to the highest MAG rank in the game (MAG4) and I was able to pull the highest MIX off (MIX2). Both were on A-Enchants (Fire) and they weren't half bad for comboing. Super Flambeaux and Scarlet Cactus over and over again will decimate the Etna and 5 prinnies fight in the front row fight though. I did that over and over again and then kept pumping as many other combos as I could into it. By the time I had exhausted York and Marie's AP I was already sitting at ~1 million damage.

Ragnarok (MAG4) is uber.

I found the thing I missed the last go round. The global search doesn't pick up on it. You have to -manually- search for it even IF it was in range with a lv. 10 search.

By the by, I'm getting some pretty sick comboing with Raze, Felicia, Lazarus and Marie. C- and D-based combos up to D-4. I'm waiting to get D-5 (Ultimate Uni, I lack Athena Balm level), C-4 (waiting on things for Felicia and Lazurus), C-5 (same) and an R-3 skill (Raze). Once I got that, I can drive down C and D ATK6 skills.

C-4's ATK4 would be 42 hits by itself when guard is broken.

I must have missed one thing. I've got the actual guide in front of me now though...and a whole load of titles and other some such that I've got. Each successive play-through is easier and easier.

The bad thing is that I know people that have got True End already...but perhaps it was necessary to get Normal End to attain all information and trophies...so I don't feel entirely bad about this ending.

So. I haven't done much recently, but I've been playing around with getting a better team for combo or the like.

So far I've been able to pull off a Ragnarok (only tried in training though) and a bunch of weaker combos.

I still need to: either use another magic user -or- boost Shurelia's AP (I've been using her for my X-Enchant-III needs)

I used Shurelia quite a bit for a while but I've since let her go. The only magic user I have left in my party now is Marie.

I can usually get around 50 AP if I've got serious stats. 60s if I'm playing around with Chicken Emblem and other costumes (rare steal from that Pink Dragon we all love). I'm looking at the Double Jump guide and they've actually missed one or two things since I've started my fourth run...I will say that I've missed one or two things, however.

I don't foresee me getting Normal/Bad end again though. I've got everything I essentially need to get True End without exceptions now. Sucks that it took a good guide that was paid for to do it, though.

Well...I said I'd get it yesterday or today.

Played through the whole damned thing doing nothing but boss battles and escaping everything else. Attained that which shows I'm on truth end.

I'm relieved that I did it. It must have been something I forgot to do on a save reload or something the last time through.

Last fight with a boss with 167,000 HP at lv. 110. I whittled it down to -2160-.

I would think, however, that it should be more than possible to get the costumes in the game without four dollars worth of aid. Most of the stuff we've got so far is stuff I can already get in the game.

And you get costumes after a certain amount of souls are released and characters are unlocked for them. Then you just go into Database and claim them individually. Sometimes it takes more than just souls though...sometimes its a conversation/event you have to see first or a combination of the two.
