Well, I watched Power Rangers in Canada until it was banned (read: YTV were pressured to take it off the air by several groups).
The ABC station we get always preempted General Hospital for whatever syndicated cartoons were out there. Sure as hell can't remember all of them but one that was there for sure was Ronin Warriors. And there was also the period we got Sailor Moon in Canada and several hundred thousand Moonies were born in the Great White North. Probably because we aired it in the afternoon when kids were coming home from school and other networks were airing it at 7 AM.
Anything from the golden years of Nick (when we got the stuff a year or so later) works too. I wish I had access to old TV Guides or something so I can flip through and circle every single series I watched... like Rocky & Bullwinkle at 6 PM on weekday nights.  |

The very original POwer Rangers were the shit. Up until... er, the third generation of them, I loved it. Then now its all "WTF?"
I saw an episode of one of the newer episodes and they brought back one of the original Power Rangers. All I could think was "Wait, do you expect kids this day and age even know who this is?"

Just keep in mind, Power Rangers are nothing but various rehashed sentai series from Japan adding in american actors and sticking the name "Power Rangers" on it.
Though it looks like the special effects have improved (though monsters in rubber suits are always a must for a sentai series) since in the 70's when they started. |
