There's music in the background, but it's literally as quiet as they could've possibly gotten it; i have to turn my volume up as high as I can just to be able to hear it.

FFV DS. I hope. That was my favorite Final Fantasy, ever.

Here is the music Xk mentioned, just recorded off the site and made a bit louder.

I'm not at all familiar with the tune, but perhaps someone else is?

Squenix sure loves to do countdown timers, don't they?

I bet it's probably a Final Fantasy game judging by the style of the page.

Or possibly, a longshot, a Seiken Densetsu game.

I'm hoping another Seiken Densetsu. We need one for DS that isn't repetitive!
Something awesome.
However, it could be a remake of Legend of Mana, I'm hoping. :3

One theory is that the aforementioned "4 Warriors of Light" could be related to the original band of heroes in the first Final Fantasy, which was released in 1987 on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

Which is what I originally thought.

A friend of mine said the music sounds like it's from the Final Fantasy Legend games, whcih later became the SaGa series. After the third installment of FFL is when it was renamed.

...Not sure why they'd make a fourth if the series was renamed.

As for being FF1, unlikely. It was barely remade a couple of years ago on the PSP.

And before that on the GBA. And before that on the Playstation. Noticing a pattern?

The latest remake of FF is part of the 20th Anniversary project, which also includes FFII, FFIVDS, and Dissidia. With Dissidia still not available outside of Japan, the project is ― in essence ― still going. I just don't see why'd they'd remake the game again so shortly when it was done so for a project that's still running.

In addition, the music on the site doesn't derive from the first FF at all. And the number "4" representing the warriors of light isn't exclusive to the first game; there are plenty of other games where this number has significance.

Granted I wouldn't be surprised if it were another FF1 remake ― in which case you can shove it in my face if it does turn out to be ― I still find it more probable to be a sequel or remake of something else.

Wait a minute... four...

Oh no, they're doing a King's Knight remake.

Eh. I have a bit less faith in them than you, I suppose.

Although, if it's an FFV remake like Guts said, I'd be all over that. One of the only main-series games I've actually finished, and the only one I've gone through multiple times. Short of that, I'm very likely to not give a damn.

Nice try. However, you forgot to mention that before that, it was on the Wonderswan Colour, and then on the MSX2. (And then on the NES, but that's...)

Personally, I wish they'd done the remakes on the PSP instead of the DS. The 3D they used in the DS ones looks quite... ugh.

I didn't forget, I intentionally omitted those. I had a reason.

Yep, definitely Final Fantasy Legend 4. I was a fan back when I had my old Gameboy Color and I'd be ready to jump back in if they update the game a bit.
