Generally it looks for most trojans and adware from your system. It's something that should be put together with things that are resident, such as Avast! and Spybot - Search & Destroy.

I use it a lot...more than Ad-Aware (whatever year here) at least. It's proven effective in my uses on fixing computers that have been infected by rogue anti-spyware/virus programs...sometimes even going further than what the memory resident virus scanner does (hint: AVG).

Now it's no panacea or anything but it does do a good job.
