When I first heard this from my parents just minutes ago, I was shocked. I then turned on the news and there it was.
I am very saddened to see this guy go, knowing his works were phenomenal, especially Thriller.
I can't really say much else.

When's the last time you could tell exactly what your heart is doing? Just because a vital organ stops operating (possibly temporarily-- heart attacks don't always end in death/unconsciousness), doesn't mean that it'll have visible symptoms, much less the stereotypical ones.

Hell, most of the lists I've seen include things like "shortness of breath", "cold sweat", or "nausea". Now, ask how often you think you're having a heart attack because you're nauseous.


Rather unfortunate to have this happen. Even if there hasn't been too much positive news coming from him in recent years, 50 is still not that old, and he released some damned good music.

Seriously; MJ was the shit before his decline into pedophilia. He died when he started doing that shit, and I mourned him then. World keeps on turning. Johnny Cash and George Carlin were two gigantic losses. Michael Jackson (at least in this moment in time) is not. He was a creep. His old music, though was kick-fuckin'-ass.

He was one of those people who kind of died before their body did--at least, Wacko Jacko != Michael Jackson to me.

But it remains extremely unfortunate he died right before a possible comeback.

Heh. It's been all over the Twitternets all day. Still. First thing I saw on Twitter when I woke up actually.

I agree that the artist known as Michael Jackson really died a long time ago. The man that lived on was very different.

I'm sorry for his kids, yet relieved for them at the same time. Unfortunately they are now orphaned, but now they may have half a chance at a "normal" life — be able to go out without wearing a mask or a disguise.... it will be very sad for them to lose a father nonetheless.

My original idea for the JCS title for today (which I thought of at work) was going to be "And all the little children can sleep peacefully tonight..." but then I realized that it would be too soon.

It's a big one though... people at work were stunned.

(That didn't stop me from asking my friend Annie if she was OK.)
