Jeez, not being Spontaneous Madness is gonna take some getting used to...

Wait, so this means I can walk around Pallet town with a Giratina scaring the hell out of everyone?

That's awesome.

Apparently some maps have been updated too, like the slowpoke cave. So we may see a few shorter areas extended.

(Yay, still for DS normal.)

Being able to have any Pokemon walk around with you is something I've wanted since Yellow Version.

I never got FireRed/LeafGreen and didn't plan on getting this either, but... I might change my mind.

I personally think it'd be hilarious having a Muk (who apparently has toxic footprints) follow you. Or watch a Slowbro try and keep up with your bike. Or even watch a Sharpedo attempt to putter about on land. Or you know...Wailord. (Though judging by the Steelix sprite, the overworld graphics aren't even remotely to scale)

Yeah Pokemon isn't exactly the king of scale.

So you get to fight a shiny Pichu and a Pichu with a chewed up ear? That's kinda neat I guess.

...Why are Unown attacking god though that's generally not a nice thing to do

So, as usual, we can expect it in the US by April/May 2010.

Make that 2012 and you're probably about right.

No, PUSA would never wait that long to jump on another Pokemon marketing clusterfuck bandwagon. I'll be amazed if we get even a fraction of the cool stuff Japan does for it, though.

Because Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum certainly took 3 years to localize and not, say, 6-8 months?

Crystal took 8 months, R/S took 4 months, FR/LG took a bit less than 8 months, Emerald took about 7 months, D/P took about 7 months, Platinum took 6 months.

If you really want to go back a ways, G/S took a year, Yellow took 13 months, and R/B/G (we got R/G, but they took some features from Blue) took about 2.5 years or about 2 years if you base it instead on the release date for Blue.

In short, expect these to come here sometime between next March (~6 months) and May (~8 months), depending whether you're an optimist or a pessimist.

Yes but this will be the best Pokemon game yet and as such it WILL (feel like it will) take longer to release, even if it actually doesn't.

Every day for me is one day closer to this game.

Not...really? Half of the text is translated for them anyway, if PUSA gets their head out of their ass and re-hires Nob Ogasawara (they did for Shadows of Almia), he'll likely just re-use most of the text like he did in Fire Red, anyway. Besides 90% of the text is items, attacks, Pokemon, etc. and that's definitely already been done for them. So. Being a game that's already been made once with maybe a few new additions that amount to nothing major textually does not = taking longer than any other Pokemon game yet.

Hey.

Hey.

I know that guy:

Full article.

I'm rather curious about that "hidden ability" for Lugia/Ho-oh. Also, the new legendary beast artwork is badass.

Added storyline is nice, too. Gold and Silver were pretty much a large set of completely unrelated events; compared to D/P/Pt, R/S/E, and even R/G/B/Y for that matter, it was somewhat weak in the plot department.
