So I had two disposable cameras in the fridge. They've been through at least four different moves, three different jobs and they expired two years ago. I finally took them to Walgreens to see if they would actually develop.

And they did.

I would have to say that these photos are from 2003/2004. Some of the pictures were from my friend's baby shower, when Wolfgang Puck closed down (which was my job before GS), back when I was a third key at GameStop in a mall, 4th of July, me hugging a huge pack of explosives, a few of my cats and my dad's cats that have passed away (and that I grew up with as a kid).

Lesson here, if you still take photos the old fashion way, keep the film in the fridge.

In a bit of a sad way, I think this is the last time I will develop film this way.

It's been a long time since we've had to get pictures developed like that. The place that we used to take our film to doesn't even develop it anymore because no one was bringing any in .

I like digital cameras though, being able to see a picture right after you take it is nice .

Exactly.

I've never used a film camera. I got a digital camera for my birthday in 2006 and have loved them since.

I can't even imagine what it would be like not being able to see what my photos will look like instantly; not being able to zoom; not being able to delete crappy pictures, and being restricted to 30 or so pictures.

Film cameras can zoom.

I used to use disposable cameras when I was little and used to go to camp. I never got in to photography or used any more expensive cameras. Even my current digital camera is kinda cheapo, but I don't need anything more.
I know a lot of people who swear by film, though. From what I hear, it's actually considerably cheaper if you develop yourself, than to print with a photo printer, or something like that. Of course, then it depends on the desired audience.

So can digital cameras. Both physically (with lenses) and digitally.

I hate digital zoom with a passion. Just distorts the photo way too much to be worth it at all. I wish they would increase the optical zoom and do away with the digital crap all together.

Yeah, the digital zoom just makes the picture grainy.
I need a camera...

This is why I love my camera. It's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ6, it has 12x optical zoom.

I'm not quite sure if my camera has digital or optical zoom. It really only looks grainy pre-picture, though - once it's taken the picture seems to look fine.

The best way to tell (aside from reading the lens) is if the lens moves when zooming. If it's optical, the lens will move. If not, it's digital. That's the best way I could figure out to explain it
