| Don Imus should never have got in trouble in the first place, but that's neither here nor there. (And no, I don't promote racism or the like and think he's a bit of a tool regardless, but none the less)
Honestly, this is just something that's being taken out of hand. If someone were to make a sexually explicit comment towards say, a 14 year old NON-POLITICAL celebrity who happens to get knocked up (take your pick, I'm sure there's plenty within the ballpark of 14), people would laugh and take it for what it is--a JOKE. How is that celebrity any less someone's daughter etc. than in this case? But because the Palins are political figures, a stick gets stuck up everyone's asses all of a sudden. Hey guys, remember when people used to make obscene comments about the Olsen twins before they were of age? (Usually regarding said coming of age) Do you recall anyone throwing this kind of a hissy fit? I can understand why it might be interpreted as off-color, of course, but its being blown way the fuck out of proportion and America needs to take an industrial-strength chill pill. |

| Well, my point was that obviously no one really thought it was all that wrong when people did it to them, because so many people did it and you barely heard any complaints (I sure never did, especially to this degree)... but once it becomes someone political suddenly its so morally repulsive. |
