Nice.

With all the BS about iTunes being really strict on what goes in and out of their service, this is priceless.

There's a saying: If they really want to break it, they will.

A evil money making idea. It is still interesting to see all the ways that crime has adapted to the internet era. (And kinda scary.)

If only people were able to keep there data secure online. :/

Once you've stolen 1500 credit card numbers, what's the point of all this messing around with iTunes?

1500 credit cards each buying a few $0.99 cent songs is a lot less suspicious than, say, 1500 credit cards buying expensive jewelery or even large electronics (i.e. things of value).

They got away with it for years months for a reason.

(Edit: oops)

5 months.

Do note the edit. Error on my part, heh.

But it still stands to reason that most attempts at this usually get found out a lot earlier, simply because large, unexpected purchases usually cause a fraud investigation, especially if they're wide-spread. (iTunes being all-online helps too)

Yeah, I see. I must have hit the reply link just before you made that edit.

iTunes is one of the most common sites where you'll see a credit card being used fraudulently... usually it's a test charge, meaning that someone will either sign the card up onto a fake account or purchase a song to see if the credit card itself works. If it does, then they'll go to another site and try to buy $2000 worth of whatever.

I need to watch out for these trends at work.
