How effective are they really? Does putting them between posts really make people more likely to click them? If I give you enough money such that I surpass the revenue you'd get from ads in a year, will you take them away?

Yes, because apparently many people weren't even scrolling down far enough to see the ad at the bottom, let alone click it.

Regardless, ad revenue is reportedly up.

I don't like it's placement, simply put...I thought that was stated well enough.

Like I said, if money's a problem, I think we have a staff that can spot quite a bit (if not one person) to keep this place alive for a time to come.

Hell, I'm one of the major ones operating it anyways, both in postcount and personal bandwidth.

I don't understand why we need the ads when there's plenty of people here willing to put money into Jul. It's not like we're forced to give money, we want to (especially if it means getting rid of the ads).

Yeah, same here, basically.. but personally I don't mind the "thread-breaking" ads at all.

But you might as well just experiment; put a donate button somewhere and see what's more effective - the ads (at the cost of alienating some users) or the donations.

In case you feel bad about "asking for money" or something, remember that many people have voluntarily stated that they're willing to help out.
