You probably recall me mentioning that I'd tinkered in, then deleted an attempt before. Now... It's working much better. No admin panel currently, so I have to use PMA. Link. This is only an experiment at the moment. Make sure to enter a birthday, real or not. Registration needs it.

I'll try to keep this post regularly updated on progress. So far, a new banner is the first change in appearance aside from forums/categories.

Sounds good. Added a preliminary rules list in the announcements. I'm going to take them rather seriously. It may use an Acmlm engine, but isn't managed like one.

Yeah. It's so I can learn how things like phpMyAdmin work through actual experience, without risk of messing up someone else's board. Too many crackers know the code, and could steal passwords/etc. I probably won't use this engine for real.

I use mine to emulate UBB's style. I plan to remove the unsafe HTML stuff from it and do some drastic changes to the registry system in order to make it safer; not to mention...

I've gotten so used to working with Acmlmboards that working with any other forum system feels weird. Then again, I could get around to finishing coding my own stuff.

The closest thing to the famed "Acmlmboard 2.0" that was talked about a few years ago is the board code used on AB2- recoded from scratch, but without all the promised features (battle system!) that Acmlmborard 2.0 would have.

PHPBB is free, but terrible. The search is useless, the default configuration sucks, the interface is durr (hey let's put the Submit and Preview buttons backward from every other board ever ), the new post highlighting system is defective, the font size system has arbitrary units and limits, long thread titles get cut off instead of generating an error message, and WTF is that Save function? That's what PMing yourself or Notepad are for.

I should add to this list next time I use one.
