So there's this series of commercials going around for this Bob Goldwater guy or something, Goldwater Law Firm, where basically all of the commercials are about "if you have such and such symptoms you may be entitled for a large cash award because of this convenient thing that they discovered wrong with this treatment"

The commercials are stupid too, there's your typical female announcer who tells you about the symptoms and makes it sound like it's the worst thing ever ("popping, clicking, or *shudder* grinding in your shoulder!"), and that's basically how they all are.

Really? Suing? That's popular? I guess that along with how now directv gives you and a friend $100 for referring a friend to their service, and how Honda now gives you money every month for a year by simply *telling* someone about your car.

Pathetic.

I was thinking the same thing today when I saw a sign that said "Attourneys - Auto injury, work injury." It's as though people are so bent on blaming their problems on someone else that they set up a lawyer shop for it.

It is a bit pathetic if you really think about it. They're doing it for two possible reasons.

1. The ones saying they will give you money for getting people to buy their stuff are trying to get through all the economic problems. It does go too far after awhile.

2. The people trying to give you money for "treatment problems" are trying to make people look bad and are trying to make them look better.

Sepeaking of those commercials, one came on not too long ago. It gets annoying after seeing them every other commercial break.

This is nothing new...by a longshot. It's plagued more on the radio than on the TV, really...and most of it is medical. They do it because it's a way for the attornies to get money out of winning your claim. Obviously, it's a way of selling service and TV and Radio are great advertising...so why not?

Thankfully, in this day and age, I get to fast forward all commercials and miss them completely. But I do remember these commercials a lot, from when I was younger.

I mostly watch Disney so I don't get to see commercials of anything but Disney.

I don't remember the "join us in this class lawsuit" commercials but I love the "hurt in an accident? CALL ME!!!" commercials.

They look so professional even though you know the guy's a total sleazeball.

Yeah, ambulance chasers have been around for a while ("Lionel Hutz, Attorney-At-Law! Broken neck? GREAT!"), they just seem to be in higher demand now thanks to our overly litigious society. You so much as breathe wrong on some people, and next thing you know they've got Mr. Goldwater on speed dial...
