I'd kinda appreciate it if NC didn't get hit again, actually. As much as I love T-storms, that mess was hell to clean. Trees down all over the place. Seems like 90% of them were in my yard =[

New York usually doesn't get any big weather.
However, we usually end up getting the remnants of hurricane systems, which, by the time they've reached here, are cold, heavy, and miserable.

While California gets pummeled by earthquakes and devoured by fires every year, I am happy to say we don't get hurricanes! For me, this season is more along the lines of "holy fucking fuck it's hot outside and oh my god that fire is really close to my house."

Another Floridian here. I'm not too worried about this year, since we rarely seem to get anything bad in this area. However, the back door near my computer is very old and flimsy, and I'm afraid any kind of bad storm could blow it down. We're looking to replace it soon.

Except for that remnants of Ike last year. Tree limbs all over the place, my neighbor's porch blew away, and our power was out for an entire week. But of course, the place where I worked, open for business!
I remember one year, standing in line for my father-in-law for propane, because the power had gone out. I don't remember how long I was in that line for, but it was for at least 5 hours, if not more.
We actually had a bad storm last night. At around 3:something AM, the power went out, and didn't come back on until around 5. Needless to say, I didn't get very good sleep.

Same here, except shorter wait for power at our place. And those assholes across the street had power the whole time!
