That actually looks like a very interesting game. Once the translation is finished I'll definitely give it a try .

I really have to get around to playing Megamari as well .

Isn't really necessary to play it with Japanese text in mind...it's actually fairly easy to get and to get certain references shown in the game or what things are based on.

Well worth anyone's time to pick up.

For time attack and gameplay purposes, yes, but there is a lot of story to tell here, so while not necessary, you're missing out on a huge chunk of things and don't get to see some of the subtle things like how you get different dialogue if you beat certain bosses before others.

Well, I get that. However, I did mention it wasn't NECESSARY.

Hence why there's a translation. Because people WANT it.

I'd heard rumors about a translation, but didn't know it was actually happening. I'll definitely look for this when it's out.

Mint should've mentioned his blog once again.

That'd keep you up to date.

You know I mentioned these guys a while back and I know no one listens to me or at least comments back when I make esoteric comments to this forum but...Rockin' Android is now involved.

I guess the two entities are in cahoots then if they plan to make a profit. Very interesting.

Apparently they are not.

In talking to Mint it sounds like that fan translation was as it should be: not-for-profit. DLSite.com hosts the project plus the game in digital distribution ALREADY at $13.23 (1260 yen). Source: http://eng.dlsite.com/work/=/product_id/RE051185

Apparently Mint didn't get any information on this, neither did the project site or anyone he knows of for staff and he talks to [erka:es] (game company) directly. This seems to be one hell of a thing brewing if this is the case...

This said, Mint isn't interested in profit.

There are other games on RA's roster as well. Off Gamasutra:

The doujin scene, however, is so much more than just shmups and Rockin' Android isn't a one-trick pony. Along with the aforementioned shmups from Orange Juice they're looking into bringing over both side-scrolling action adventure and fighting doujin games. The front page of Rockin' Android's Rockin' Android currently has a poll asking visitors what genre of doujin games they would like to see released stateside, clearly hinting at the publisher's future plans.

Galvez didn't pull any punches when discussing the games he was going after either, listing RosenKreuzStillette, Dread Lock, Crescent Pale Mist, and Big Bang Beat as target titles. It'll be interesting to see how things work out, but the prospect of these games getting a Western release is exciting in its own right.

It won't be an easy task introducing the doujin scene on unsuspecting western gamers, but there's a genuine enthusiasm within Rockin' Android that most gamers can relate to - that feeling of wanting to share something completely fresh and exhilarating with other gamers and friends is unparalleled.

Again...very interesting.

More still:

Off Mint's blog:

According to articles at GamaSutra and Siliconera, the doujin game localization company Rockin' Android announced that they are going to attempt to get the license for Rosenkreuzstilette and release it. Rockin' Android has something of a negative reputation among doujin game TL groups, as many of them claim that they are making profit off of work that is not theirs. With Rosenkreuzstilette, there is nothing to do, as the game is available for us to purchase already, and a TL patch, complete with some graphic changes, all for the better, has been provided by Darkside and Zeppy. I have sent Rockin' Androids an e-mail in an attempt to confirm their plans for Rosenkreuzstilette's release, and if it is indeed something they wish to pursue, then we will work from there. We shall see what happens.
