You know, Sega... the reason Nintendo has success when they put Mario in racing games and tennis games is because the games themselves are VERY GOOD. Sonic and other Sega friends in a racing game COULD be good but given your recent track record, it would be a small miracle if that was the case.

Prediction: Sega Superstars Golf, Sega Superstars Soccer and Sega Superstars Baseball in the next few years.

Don't forget Sonic R. Actually, I liked that game. I'd rather see that being remade than a game about Sonic racing in a car.

Sonic (& co), Aiai, Ulala, Amigo, Ryo Hazuki (Shenmue), Alex Kidd, Billy Hatcher, Nei (and the rest of the PS/O/U cast; granted, it'd probably just wind up being someone from PSU), Shinobi, anyone from Jet Set Radio, NiGHTS, Ristar, Sho (Burning Rangers).

I'm ignoring Virtua Fighter because I'm unfamiliar with most of that.

Sonic R wasn't bad, but... I think the second Sonic Riders got the formula better. A bit less of the "everyone goes ludicrously slow except for the unbalanced Super Sonic" thing, there, and plenty of hidden shortcuts/alternate paths.

Will reserve judgment until we get more than a trailer and 6 screenshots.

(Also, Sonic 2 established that Tails could fly forever. Did not stop him from hitching a ride on Sonic's plane; I consider this to be the same idea).

They did that already as a Japan-only PC game. You picked a human avatar and had a SEGA character as a caddy, then played golf in places from Sonic games.
