Actually, it was fairly close to this in the instances that we've had where they've shipped us computers beyond repair and we do get pictures and confirmations from other service techs when it comes to this point. We do let the people know that their system was shipped improperly when this happens, just out of courtesy if nothing else.

My package is in transit. Wonder how long it will take to get to Texas.

I say this because we get packages in constantly from people who do similar and improperly do it.

Needless to say, the comps come in worse than they were to begin with, perhaps irreparably. Like today, for instance...

Yeah, we ordered a computer off of eBay and UPS managed to crack a faceplate this way, and knock the graphics card loose.

Best pack everything going through UPS like it's gonna explode.

If only you knew how very likely that is...

This sounds standard. First stop is the nearest Distribution Center to the UPS store you drop it off at. From there it heads to a central hub for the area, which should sort the package to the appropriate truck and let it be on its way. I don't know how the Hubs operate in Florida, but here in Columbus, if the package is going out of state to a far enough location (ground only), it all gets sorted to the same truck, in which the trailer is loaded onto a train and heads to that state's central Hub, where from there it gets sorted to individual Distribution Centers and delivered via Brown Trucks.

This is to say, not foolproof. Towards the end of a shift, any package could wind up anywhere, and there is usually a 'Cache' truck which takes most Out-of-State ground packages, and will make stops as needed to get the packages sent to the proper locations.

Bwahahaha.

Reminds me of one of the supervisors at work who went back to Trinidad for two weeks; she *could* have done a direct flight from Montreal to Miami and then to Trinidad, but she avoids the airport in Miami like the plague because "nothing ever leaves on time".

True?

Yes! That's why I fly out of Ft Lauderdale all the time. It's closer and less BS that you have to deal with.

If the next stop after Hialeah was Orlando, then yes, that would probably happen. UPS does not typically have any sort shifts on weekends. This likely means it won't be departing for out of state until this evening.

It's the consequences of shipping at the end of the week/shipping ground rather than air.

A friend of mine got the red rings for the first time last weekend. After he rebooted it it started working again although I'm willing to bet that a complete breakdown is somewhere in the near future .

Boy, after that point I would've switched consoles, or to PC, or gotten a life.

By about two weeks, I'd be over any kind of withdrawals.

I have a legitimate question about the X360, so I will ask it here. My uncle modded his Xbox to where it is overclocked. So two questions.

1- What is the fucking point.
2- Can you really do this.

He claims that the PS3 is for little girls and he loves his Xbox so much that he modded it to where the processor is overclocked. I asked him if he had a coolant and what was the point. His excuse? Halo runs faster.

E- I also forgot, he said he did not need a coolant on it. It's pretty reliable, so I am going to assume he treats it like gold or something.

I seriously want to call bullshit on this. But I am ignorant on this kinda thing. Anyone know if this is a 'good' idea? I ment it's not like the Xbox has a system requirements to it. If he is bullshitting, I will laugh my ass off.

Wait, he can go online with his 360 after it being modded? I thought you wouldn't do that b/c if MS finds out, you get banned.

My package made it to Georgia.

That would be the Wii. And any game for the DS made by Ubisoft.

Well, it's in Texas now. But Microsoft hasn't shown that it's gotten it yet. If I don't get my unit back and working in about four weeks, I might be without a 360 since that's when my nephews are coming down from VA and they would most likely want to play on it.

Mesquite->Dallas->Mesquite->Mesquite

This tells me that Mesquite is the appropriate location it was supposed to be delivered to, but got scanned into a truck that was going to Dallas instead (this is called a misload). It gets to Dallas, and gets sorted back to the truck going to Mesquite, which is the location it's supposed to be going to in the first place.

This one's the kicker though. At the hub I work at (Columbus, Ohio), we have a truck called Columbus TDP, which takes all of the flow that is supposed to be distributed from our hub. When that truck is full (or it's the end of the night), the truck goes all the way around to the other side of the building where it gets unloaded again and loaded onto Brown Trucks for actual delivery. If I had to guess, that's what happened there at the end (only logical conclusion I can come up with).

Well, UPS delivered my package. Buuuut, Xbox isn't saying that they got it on their end. It was delivered late.
