So Xkeeper just informed that when an enemy spy is disguised as his own teammate with the dead ringer, he will drop his teammate's doll, not his own. I did not know this at first which is probably why I kept getting back-stabbed by a certain player. Xk's advice: Listen well. I agree. That's all you can do. That's why Valve gave it a loud 'VWOOOOOZZZZZ' rather than the usual 'hisssssss.'

So cool I got banned from TPG's Classic map server again. This time for spamming class changes.

While that might sound needless and nonsensical, consider that the map was ctf_steamroll, which has no Engineer-accessible metal, meaning that every Setup suicide you do is another 100 they can pick up and use for upgrades/more buildings.

General Tips on The Dead Ringer

The Dead Ringer is a cloak unlockable for the spy. With it, you can't cloak normally. Instead, if you have it out and are hit by a non-killing attack, you will drop a dummy to act out your death and cloak for up to 8 seconds.

- The Dead Ringer decreases damage taken with the cloaking hit. It can even save you from an sniper headshot.

- It recharges fast, but you can't have it out if it's not fully charged. If you don't need the whole 8 seconds of cloak, de-cloak.

- Have it out all the time. When you are heading towards dangerous areas, it should ensure that you will get your kill.

- Don't have it out all the time! Even if you're heading towards dangerous areas, take it out only when needed. You can't stab while it's out.

- The Dead Ringer also stops you from burning, but if the pyro keeps on spraying the area, you might get hit again and burn.

- The de-cloaking sound is EXTREMELY NOISY. People will hear it and search for you. Be even more careful when choosing a de-cloaking spot.

- It will trigger from ANY damage. This includes enviromental hazards and self-inflicted damage, like falling of a building.

Yea. I've been forced to adjust my strategy. It's more or less me just ignore the spy after he's dropped his fake.

My strategy became "keep shooting in that general area for a few seconds".

TGP is a pretty atrocious server in the first place. Why does everyone keep going there? I can think of a ton that are better (Stompfest, Couch Athletics, The Ammo Can, Team Fortress 2 Fort, The Northern Resistance, DP-Nation, etc).

Mainly because it's the best place we've really been able to find so far and get everyone to join. Not that it'll be that way for long.

Also, had a fun round last night in an arena match. 8v8, and I (Medic) and a Bill S. Preston (Heavy) were the only two people left on our team, versus somewhere between 5 and 7 guys on the other team. We killed them all at once in a timespan of approximately 6 seconds using a Kritzkreig.

Awesome.

Probably more command spam than "output spam", really (i.e. join_class or whatever) but yeah, it's absurd. I love how he said it's stressful on the server.

This is the server that is set up so goddamn poorly that forced map changes crash it. Oh, and at least a few days ago the server was randomly changing maps whenever someone capped.

Yeah, uh... not the brightest bunch.
