So I got paid today.

I worked 19 hours this week. (Friday is the beginning of the pay week. I Started on Tuesday)

I got a check for $245. Most weeks if I apply for 50 hours, That's 600 a week right there.

Holy fucking shitballs.

That's better than what I make...so you're probably raking in around 15 an hour or so.

Lot of people (myself included) would like that kind of pay in a recession right now. And it's probably more than 600 with overtime.

Since I've started this new job, there hasn't been a week that goes by where I haven't gotten overtime.

I am a workaholic. I pretty much love an honest days work. Which is why I constantly love putting in hours at work. I will not go above 50 hours a week however.

Same here. As long as I get paid for my work, then I'll work as much as possible.

I usually volunteer my skills at local places. Like for example I fixed a couple of computers at the school I graduated from and so on. It's a good reference for any future employers. Many people look at this as a sign that you are willing to work.

Sure it does not pay, but it helps you get a job better than having no experience at all. And who knows! You may even get paid a little bit for something you may do for free!

You also STILL don't live on your own.

Eventually...

Or drive.

You ever seen how Quebec people drive? You'd have sooooo much fun if you ever came up here.

I used to make $14.75/hr at my old job, which came out to about $600 after taxes for a 50 hour week. Though, more often than not, I worked more than 50 hours. When we got our first CNC, I spent a month working 72 hours weeks (I didn't make as much per hour then, though).

I live in a small town in a rural area, so for me, that was a lot of money. But, really that's the only part of the job that I miss.

I should be able to launch nuclear armaments soon. The building it up and wiring's the most mundane part.

I'd totally be your lab assistant! I'll get a hunched back and call myself Igor or something.

As for me, I'm just job hunting right now, trying to find the most awesome job I can get. (Or anything I can get)
There's really a lot of opportunity in Niagara Falls, mostly Resturants up here..
but So far, this Japanese resturant I applied for were pretty interested in me, I hope they call! They better, or I'll make them eat toilet sushi.
For breakfast >

HEY CAN YOU SEE ME
Well, we don't have any big, dangerous looking computers like that at my work, but we do have a Wii.

I'm tempted to press that red button over there.

That would launch ground-to-ground.

Last target was some place in South Florida.

Actually, no...that button wouldn't have done anything with the way that was hooked up. The switch on the top left of that console is currently set to controller mode, so anything on that panel outside of that switch would've been rendered useless anyways. The reason I have a switch such as that is to test the grey computers inside the metal cab exclusively if I ever need to (which is quite often). The front of that cab (which I'm showing you the back) has a screen and all of those buttons (and then some) anyways.

And that's part of the machine that does the major controlling behind a machine with frickin' lasers attached.

Isn't the red button just the e-stop anyway?

Yep. Except that is an old-style switch. The ones we have now stay in when pressed. The older ones didn't.

Actually, we're very close to doing the same at our work over the AC situation.

AC going off at 10:40 PM every night = NOT ACCEPTABLE.
