Hey guys, what's goin on?
Yeah, I'm great, yourself? :3

anyway, this is just a generic "What kind of computer do you friggin use" thread
Post your OS, Specs, and maybe a pic of your Super Computer.

GO!

I use, an Apple iMac.
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo T7700 2.40GHz @ 2.4GHz [SSE3/PAE/XD/EM64T/VMX/EST/DualCore] L2 Cache: 4096K
FSB: 200MHz
RAM: 687.7MB/1.0GB
Virtual: 296.12M/512.00M
Disk: 424.04GB/737.62GB
Display: ATI, RadeonHD2600 [256 MB/QE/Stock] 1680x1050
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.7 (9J61)
Kernel: Darwin 9.7.0
Build: i386
Build Date: Tue Mar 31 22:52:17 PDT 2009

I think I went overboard with the "Build Date" but I just copied everything from my "Mac Info" pref pane.

So, what do you guys use? :3

Athlon 64 X2 5200+, 4GB of ram, 250GB hard drive, Radeon X1950 with 512MB, DVD+/-RW, runs Windows Server 2003.

I bought it about 2 1/2 years ago for $1100. Well, by bought it, I mean I bought the individual parts and put it together. I also have several other (mostly junk) computers around here as well as a 2.3 TB file server running Windows 2000.

HEY CAN YOU SEE ME
I have a MacBook Pro, and a Mac Mini. I use the MacBook Pro the most, it's my primary machine and what I'm using at the moment. The Mini gets used on the TV for channel BT and a bunch of other things. Mostly Channel BT.

At work I use an iMac.

Custom built:

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 3200+
Mainboard: Asus A7V600-X
RAM: 1024 MB
Display: GeForce FX 5700LE, using a Samsung SyncMaster 1100p plus @ 1280x960, 100 Hz
Hard disks: Samsung SP1213N + Samsung 0822N, 6 partitions total (186.37 GiB) + Samsung HD501LJ as an external drive (500 GB)
DVD recorder: Plextor PX-716A (broken)
Sound: Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS, using a Logitech X-530 5.1 sound system
Operating system: XP Professional SP1

Bought all parts in early 2005 (minus monitor, external drive and sound system) for around 850 € ($1145). It was okay for its time, but most of it is severely outdated by now (especially the graphics card.. I know it sucks, I wanted to get a different one, too, but the one I wanted was out of stock and I had to get this one instead)

Gaming wise, it's barely enough for Half-Life 2 and its mods, but that's about it.

I'm currently saving up for a better one. Estimated total for all parts is 812.9 € (includes 200 € monitor)

RAM: 2GB
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 8500GT
Hard drive: 500GB, not sure about the manufacturer
OS: XP professional SP2

I got it for Christmas 2007. It works great for everything I do, although Windows is getting very clogged up and needs a reformat.

Motherboard: ASUS P5QC
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 (2.66GHz, 333MHz FSB)
RAM: 4GB (3.25GB usable) DDR3 1333
Disk: 465.75GB (or 500 billion), 389.98GB free

I got it 2 months ago (excluding the screens, which I already had) for about $1300 CAN (just over $1000 US), when my previous computer's video card died and couldn't be replaced (power supply too small and weak, no space for a bigger one) ... I've had that one for 3 years anyway so I was due for an upgrade

Athlon X2 4200+, Socket 939. Zalman Freezer heatsink, 150 GB Maxtor SATA hard drive, 1GB RAM, Asus A8-MVP (may have misspelled the name) mobo, Samsuing 19 inch widescreen LCD, MAG Innovision 20 inch CRT, ATI Radeon x550 256MB card, etc.

Been using it for nearly 3-4 years now. Just finished maintaining it some. Lookin' good. Stays cool now, and can keep it under 50 degrees celsius at full power gaming mode.

I use an old Acer 3100 Notebook:

CPU: ADM Semprom 3400+ (1.8 GHz, 256 KB, L2 cache)
HD: 60 GB (ugh)
RAM: 512mb, though 32 goes to the video card.
Video: ATI Radeon Xpress 1100

Suits my needs just fine, but I could use some more disk space .

Newest desktop:

Pretty much brand new, not even a month old.

Antec p182 case with some Antec power supply I forgot the name of, plan to replace it with a modular Cooler Master, though, just been too lazy.
Asus P6T motherboard
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.66Ghz (no OC) with stock cooler
6GB Mushkin DDR3-1333 (running at 1066 ) RAM
nVidia Geforce 9800GT 512MB, from my old computer
Intel X25-M 80GB SSD, for OS, from my old computer
Some Seagate 320GB hard drive that I had lying around that I used on my old computer since the 1.5TB drive died. Plan to replace it with a different brand 1.5TB brand but it hasn't arrived, yet.
Atheros based PCI wireless card.
some LiteOn external DVD burner that doesn't need to be plugged in other than to USB, which I find nice.
Running: Gentoo Linux AMD64, kernel 2.6.27-gentoo-r8
Display: Sony Bravia KDL-32XBR6 32" 1920x1080, from the old computer

Older desktop:

A bit over a year old. There was nothing really wrong with it, but I wanted something that really kicks ass and can hold on to for the next 4-5 years.

Antec Atlas case
Asus P5K-e deluxe wifi-ap (with the wifi ripped out... literally)
Intel core 2 duo E6750 @ 2.66Ghz (no OC) stock cooler
4GB G-skill DDR-800 RAM
LG cd/dvd burner
No video card
No hard drives
No power supply
Running: Nothing
Display: None

Much older desktop:

This one is about 4-5 years old. I got it as a gift for free. I don't use it very often.

Some super cheapo generic-o case and power supply.
AMD Athlon 2500+ at I believe 1.8Ghz, but I could be wrong. It might even be overclocked.
512MB of some kind of DDR RAM
nvidia geforce fx 5200, 256MB
Maxtor 120GB IDE hard drive
Sound Blaster Live! without livedrive
Liteon CD/DVD burner
3.5" floppy, 5.25" floppy (BIOS only supports 1 at a time, so I use the 3.5" floppy drive)
Running: Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
Display: some crappy 21" Acer, 1680x1050@50hz

Really old desktop:

I used this a lot up until as recently as a year ago as a secondary computer. It's a horrible piece of crap. It used to be an IBM Aptiva something but I had to replace a lot of parts on it.

Antec case and power supply to replace the dying/falling apart IBM ones.
AMD K6-2 500Mhz
256MB SDRAM
nvidia TNT2 Model64 PCI 32MB
16x CD burner, used to have a single 32x CDROM reader, then added a 4x CD burner, then got the 16x burner for free.
I totally forget what drive is in it now, but it had an 80GB WD IDE added later on, but originally had a 10GB quantum fireball that developed bad sectors.
Had the SB Live! that was added later on.
Had a Conexant PCI 56K modem that I got mad at once I got DSL and ripped all the parts off of 1 by 1.
Running: I think debian linux, if it still had a hard drive, originally Windows 98.
Display: was a 17" IBM CRT, then a 19" Samsung LCD

Laptop:

Asus EEE EPC1002HA

Intel Atom N260, I forget the clock speed.
1GB RAM
intel integrated graphics
160GB hard drive
Running: Windows XP home SP3
Display: 10"

All of this discussion is making me want to buy another computer. It's getting about time for me to purchase another MacBook Pro... isn't it....?

I might need to pay off more of my car loan first. D'oh.

Resist the urge! Upgrading isn't necessary! At least, not until your old comp has become incapable of doing what you usually use it for... :p

Mine with the dead video card still had onboard, but that meant no second screen and crappy video performance ... and I actually am using my new computer for something, I run PCSX2 at full speed

Yeah, or when my Laptop's Hard Drive head crashed, and my old P4 3 GHz melted the processor socket.

Currently, I have a terrible computer. So I will list this one. I have plans to start building a new one piece by piece.

Blue Bomber

1.25 Ghz Processor (AMD Athlon)
1GB DDR RAM
ATI Radeon. 256 DDR2 (Don't know the series)
X2 300 GB Hard drives

I also have a laptop, but it's a paperweight. So I won't list it.
