Yeah, it has be one of the smallest kicks out there. But if tuned right, plays a powerful and nice sound.
This set started with snare, kick, two toms, cymbal on the lamp, and smaller hi-hat. I've been adding to it over time and I've been looking for toms, but they aren't easy to find individually. Especially regarding my set (Black Mapex Venus) which is not made anymore.

On a side note, the two toms are 7"x8" and 10"x12". They have such a strong difference in tone I usually do rolls tom-snare-tom rather than snare-tom-tom.

Also, glad you like it. We must duel for the Rock Gods one day!

Do you know what brand it is? Personally I use a Shure SM-57 to mic the snare/hi-hat, I'll probably get a second one and use it as an over-head. Get an AKG D12 for bass drum, I don't remember how much they cost but you'll seriously thank me later. You might also want to consider investing in a mixing board if you're going to get serious about drum recording, it makes microphone management a lot easier.

Me? I play keyboard, drums, guitar and bass. Just started learning those last two on my own. Oh, and I sing and write music, yay? Taking voice lessons this summer to sharpen that all up. I study Music Composition as my major--I considered switching to tech/production because I truly can't stand theory, but my school doesn't offer a bachelor's degree in it, wtf. Music is...my life, I guess ;x

edit: typos.

edit 2: I feel like I should mention I'm a lefty but my hi-hat is still positioned on the left. Playing any other way feels incredibly unnatural to me "right hand on cymbal" is pretty much second nature to me. Then again I've been playing that way what...10 years? So I mean yeah if I were to try playing lefty it would feel strange. I mean it DOES feel strange. Yeah. I also don't get people who string their bass "backwards". Weeeeird. Oh well.

I played piano for about.. 11 years taking lessons and whatnot (Good grief. I have to remember to thank my parents more some time.), and now I play a bit just to keep it up. I'm kinda rusty. I did the Royal Conservatory of Music exams in Ontario, up to 'grade 8.' I graduated from high school, and didn't have much time anymore, so I stopped doing the exams. Then I moved and didn't have a piano for a while, other than the one at my sig. o.'s mom's church that I don't like going to because the pastor guy is creepy. D: A year or two ago she (sig. o's mom) got a piano for her house, so I can play it sometimes, when she doesn't have stuff piled all over it.

I used to play the viola in school, but then the school program stopped. I always wanted to play the cello (I love the way it sounds). Might do that sometime way down the road when I have the money/time to. =/

I sang in my high school choir (which isn't as dorky as it sounds, honest. We had a really... whacky vocal teacher guy. XD He's awesome.) but I haven't really sung since. (Rock Band doesn't count!) I think I probably sound vaguely like someone stepping on a cat's tail, now. (I don't really know, I haven't tried singing a cappella in a few years. I think I'm scared to. heh)

Ah, the SM-57, is there something it can't do? =P

As for myself, I play guitar mainly, but I have a bass that I still use a lot, especially when I record.

I also have a midi controller that I use as I keyboard.

Not very good at it, but I'm trying.
