Or rather...Odometer...was made a long time ago but first called it on May 12, 1847. That's tomorrow.

[pitches article]

So what's the greatest length you've ever traveled for a trip?

164 miles. To Gatlinburg, TN.

I think that's the longest one.

Longest I've gone one way was about 600+ miles from Benton, AR to Peoria, IL. Straight nine-hour drive, minus the two times I stopped for gas.

From Florida to Virginia. I don't remember much from that trip....

And here's an old pic that I took of my old car.

I believe it was somewhere around 800-1000 miles, went from California all the way to South Dakota/Nebraska. Studying anthropology of Native Americans. Went to Wounded Knee.

By car? Or in general? By car no more than about 150mi, to Chicago, Detroit or Cadillac they're all about the same distance. By plane, about 3600 miles to Dublin, then another 250 or so to London.

We went from Northern VA all the way up to Niagara Falls by car a few years back. I think that was the longest by car. By air, it was either our trip from here to London or Santiago, I'm not sure of the distances exactly.

The longest distance I ever traveled was about 880 miles on a trip I went from Texas to Ensenada, MX that I went to around 11 years ago. The bus ride was quite long, but I don't remember how long it took. It was long enough for me to go to sleep and sleep though all the time we were in Los Angeles.

I haven't really traveled in any other way.

According to google maps, 1324 miles from buffalo, ny to west palm beach, fl by car. About the same for air, except As The Crow Flies, I guess.

My 3 longest road trips are:
1. Cleveland, OH to Warroad, MN, ~1100mi. - Summer after senior year of high school, my friends and I went to a casino in Minnesota. Unfortunately, my friend wrecked his car on the way back and we had to take a 24-hour Greyhound ride back.

2. Cleveland, OH to Myrtle Beach, SC, ~700mi. - When I was a kid, our family went to this rented house right by the beach for a week. It was awesome.

3. Columbus, OH to Windsor, ON, ~200mi. - When we turned 19, my friends and I went to go drink and gamble in Windsor. Huzzah!

My longest trip by land was approximately 1 475 km (~915 miles) from London, Ontario, to Ocean City, Maryland. It was the dumbest, weirdest route, sending me through Buffalo, over to Albany, down through NYC, through Philadelphia, to Baltimore, through Salisbury and over to Ocean City. I took a bus route, so I didn't really have a choice. I'd looked up a route on the US Greyhound site, and it was much shorter, but when I got to the terminal in Ontario, they "didn't even have that route" and couldn't figure out how to make it work because they have ancient old computers there. I had a printout of the route with me, and showed it to them. 'Twas utterly ridiculous. By the time they figured it out, the bus I needed to be on (to Detroit!) was already gone. :< I had icky bus people experiences that trip. It was not pleasant. D:

Anyway, longest flighty trips have been from Toronto, Ontario, to Zürich, Switzerland, with stopovers in usually either England, Germany, or the Netherlands, and back again. Distance? No clue. Usually at least 9 hours in planes, not counting stops, travel to airport, etc. *shrug* I've been on a lot of planes, to a bunch of places. First trip, I was 8 months old. XD

Longest driving road trip where I didn't drive at all was from my parents' place to Ottawa, Ontario, (600 km/375 miles, ish) when I was in grade 8. I've never really driven too far by myself. Went from Upstate, NY, to .. Providence~ish, Rhode Island (165 miles?) at some point, but I didn't drive for most of it.

My longest car trip was probably from the Bronx in NYC to Hershey, Pennsylvania. (Though, that'll soon be topped by my upcoming senior trip, from New Rochelle NY to... Hershey, Pennsylvania. )
My longest plane trip was probably from New York to Casablanca, Morocco.
Hell if I know how long these trips were, though.

Shiny new layout!
----------------------------------------------------

500(ish).

That would be a day trip from NOVA to Blacksburg AND back all in the same day. It's actually quite boring, I mean, who likes to see beautiful mountains for half the trip?

Longest trip that I -DIDNT- drive, NOVA to Miami. Not quite sure how long that took offhand, but the busses broke it into two days >>
